They're not so common closer to Venezuela.

I think what happens is that the Colombian and Nicaraguan cormorants while flying past carrying a fishy morsel spot the nice, ripe fruit and think 'The wife'll kill me if I only take protein home for the kids'. They then drop off some fish or lobster in exchange for the fruit.

I go from time to time, last trip was St Martin, St. Barth's and Anguilla, also been to and USVI and BVI many times as well as Aruba and Barbados.

They're all too built up. Even Anguilla (which is the trendy one now, Jessica Simpson was there while I was I think, apparently it is "hot" now) is getting overdeveloped - they are putting in an 18 hole golf course and a runway for jets; I had to go by boat.

Aruba has a friggin Old Navy on it. St. Martin has a Church's Chicken.

I just don't like the island life. I get bored pretty fast. Another issue is that except for the nicer (tourist) areas, the islands are practically Africa-poor.

I actually decided to take a break from Caribbean trips for a while. That may be more reason for you to go, lol.

A guy my hubby worked with was from Bermuda I think & went back to live there. Lost touch with him, cuz i'd like to know what it'd be like to live/work there. I know some islands require you to prove you have a skill/job that wouldn't take away from a native's opportunity.

Yeah...I found out someone I used to work with moved to Paradise Island. I need find out how she is allowed to work. Maybe, she bought real estate.

Big4life.....I have family in Boca Raton. I would just fly inland for a hurricane. People are too grumpy and rude to live there though.

I've been to St Barths and St. Maarten. Beautiful places.

What do you think it would be like to actually live there? Anyone visit a lot?

i want to sell my home, buy a yacht and run charters there...so its my dream to get out of socal...maybe the Fujian Islands....
