Back soreness

Hey guys do you ever notice after a really intense workout mainly powerlifting sessions that sometimes your lower back area is a little sore but then the next day it feels as if nothing happened? Sometimes this worries me because I neglected legs and abs and back hyperextensions for a long time so im sure my back is a little weaker as with my core but im working on them and making improvements.

Not sure what to do because I did chest today and I felt insanely strong and ive been making such awesome gains since I came back a month ago. Dumbell pressin 130lbs in each hand incline pressing 100lb dumbells and doing cable flyes with the pin at my gym on the 40lbs. A week ago i struggled with the 90lb for flat and 65lb for incline and could only usde the 10-20lb mark on the cable flyes. i just dont wanna give that up so im hoping i dont have a back problem :/ but its kind of worrying me. Im finishing up my last week of powerlifting cycle and was gunna take a week off completley.

What do you guys think? Normal or should I back off and really strengthen some things? i never arch my back unless its a natural arch when i do presses or anything and I always maintain very strict form. I just dont wanna give up these gains that i have made with a better trainign regimen and diet that i never thought were physically possible for me :/

Just Curious? How do add 40 lbs to your db flat bench and 35 lbs to your db incline bench in one week?

Dude I dont know. But I did. Prolly a reason why ppl asking me today if I was on the juice like other personal trainers there that I talk to so I tell them no but I wanna try it sometime. Honestly I dont know dude but ill have weeks like this where i consume mass calories and have an insane workout and just blowup and move heavy heavy weight i dont know man i really dont. But I wouldnt lie about it. No reason to

Edit: kind of how in 2 months eating a lot and working out hard and taking animal pak animal m stak and animal pump i went from 165 to 180. And someone said to me what have you been doing and I told them eating chicken and steaks and workin out and they said looks like you been doing a little more than just eating some chicken and steak...

Hmm now my back is doing better but it just gets me how I came home feelin like oh shit I hope im not developing anything and then right now its starting to almost feel like it wasnt even sore to begin with...any ideas guys?

it sounds like a lower back pump. i only get this from doing a handful of exercises and its not from anything that is a pressing motion.

i'm not sure what is in the animal stack/pack but i get the lower back pump from any supp that has N O in it or creatine. currently i am on a cycle of test & e/q and i have to do SLDL last because the pump is so intense that i lose so much ROM after a couple of sets.

as far as being worried about hurting yourself, you said that "it feels like nothing" the next day so it probably is nothing. i would be more concerned with RC's & joints with rapid weight increases like your talking about.

best of luck

I think it is either this, or just simple soreness. 50mg D/bol ED KILLED my lower back....could barely walk around for work without it feeling on fire all day. Just make sure you don't neglect your abs like I did....it will cause a LOT of problems...

Yeh I did neglect my abs and legs for quite some time. Acela what you say also makes sense I did have someone tell me to be careful one time because they said joints dont get as strong as muscles do as fast so I dunno. The weight I posted above I only do for 1-2 weeks every 4-6 weeks. I have been just trying to go really really heavy for my 1-2 week long powerlifting session just to shock my body and start consuming a lot of calories so i can be sent into a growth overdrive was my thinking.

Would that be ok or do you reccomend any joint supps? What I did today doesnt happen all that often but for some reason today when that happened I felt like a beast and it took me a lot to get fatigued. But ive been resting 7-8hrs everyday and im supplementing protien, glutamine 3x daily 30 mins before each meal and creatine right after workout. Sometimes ill suck down some of my nitro G carb drink halfway through the workout to help replace glycogen stores. Maybe this is all payin off i dunno but do u think i shold get a joint supp then? Lol sorry if i went off topic.

What if i felt a little tingle down my leg? could that be a pinched nerve and do those go away?

Edit: I wonder if I got what your talking about from picking up the heavier weights from the lower part of the dumbell rack and walking over to my bench? Could that be almost like a deadlift motion in some ways maybe? Just enough where it might cause that?

Pull the bench up right in front of the weights, so you can just pick up and sit down.

I personally don't take any supps for joint support. I also don't really train extremely heavy either. I tend to keep my reps in the 10-12 range. For the last 5-6 years I have religiously done some simple RC exercises that basically alleviated any RC pain that I had from training in the 4-6 rep range.

The tingle down your leg COULD be a sciatic nerve (spelling) aggravation. i stressed COULD because i am not a doc. play it careful with that...those pains, for me anyway, tend to go away with time

Yeh the pains are completley gone today. I typically dont train really really really heavy i do a rep range of 6-10 for the most part and 1-2 weeks i will go really really heavy and then take a week off.

I always keep proper form as well and if i do cheat its very minimal.
