B-12 injections?

Anyone ever try b-12 injections? I heard good things about them and was curiuos if anybody else on here had any positive results?? thanks.....

Absolutely worthless in the absence of vitamin B12 deficiency.

Go spend your money elsewhere. You'll have more to show for it. The days of giving B12 shots to people who were "tired" are over. They don't work, except for people with vitamin B12 deficiency.

still used in long term care setting...no need for B12 in healthy young population.........ahhhhhhhhhhh...... the placebo effect :) ...prolonged alcohol abuse could cause deficiency.

my doctor gives me a b12 shot every 2 weeks,,,never knew why
Do you have pernicious anemia? Every 2 weeks is a little frequent. Most people with pernicious anemia get monthly injections for life.

Injected B-12 reaches the blood stream faster and more directly than pills without being diluted by the gastro-intestinal tract, and proponents believe it is more of an effective delivery method than sublingual liquids. Usually the vitamn is injected into a muscle like the thigh or buttocks. Your doc can do it for ya or teach you how to do it.

I was taking it once a week without much impovement. I am going to try once a day and see what happens. My doc just writes the prescriptions up for me so that I can do it daily if I want or three times a week.

Once again, I reiterate: YOU ONLY NEED B-12 INJECTIONS IF YOUR SERUM B-12 LEVELS ARE LOW OR IF YOU HAVE PERNICIOUS ANEMIA.

B-12 injections do NOT raise your white blood cells unless you are B-12 deficient and have a pancytopenia/megaloblastic anemia from lack of B-12. If you have a leukopenia, it is either drug-induced, heridatary, or acquired, and the underlying cause should be sought.

well heres my little 2 cents. I was feeling tired, shitty, and a lil under the weather all the time (mind you maybe i had b12 defficiency or anemia). Because of my phylosophy on self medicating i went to the pharmacy n got injectible b12 (OTC in canada :) ). I injected 1000mcg EOD and the results are amazing, increased energy throughout the day, crazy pumps at the gym, and a sense of well being (yes i know placebo effect to some extent but i dont care its been doing the trick). I highly reccommend it for college students such as myself (the months of college drinking can cause b12 defficiency)
