Hey

I heard that the Australian way of life is very similar to the Candian's except you will have to get used to the heat.

I will come back to you soon with an answer to your question in the mean time the other aussies can give you their point of view. :) BRB

in australia, you can get someone to vouch for you to come here, but that person (in this case, me ;)) has the aussie version of jus primae noctis (the right of first night) commonly known as jus get'er drunkus ;)

its totally worth it, bor. you can send pics of your girl in frisky poses to me via PM

dont thank me bor. its alright ;) anytime ;)

I live in Perth. It fits your 'quiet urban city' requirement quite nicely and is more laid back and probably not as busy as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, etc. There's plenty of nightlife in Freo, Northbridge, Claremont, Leederville, Scarborough, etc. Great beaches, too. I hear the women go alright here as well. :p

yea i think she was saying something about adelaide or something like that.

we're not rich no, but shes going to be a doctor, soooo.... :D lol

hows the weather there? always nice? you guys get snow and shitty cold weather like us here in canada? we're bothing looking for all round nice weather, better for me too so when i get my SportBike i can ride for many months :D

Sorry I did not get back to you earlier.

I live in Sydney which is the fastest paced city in Australia, but it does not compare to the fast life of London, New York or Tokyo by any means. So if you lived in those three cities Sydney will seem very quite.

There are a number of suburbs which make up a part of Sydney and also surrounding the city. Darlinghurst, Kings Cross and Paddington are inner-city suburbs situated to the East of the city. These places are where trendy single uncommitted professional people live mainly. It is close to great restaurants, bars, theatres, museums and it is near the centre of Sydney, probably walking distance but not very leafy and not quite.

Moving further east you'll come across the upper-class secluded suburbs of Double Bay and Vaucluse. The upper class suburbs are for millionaires so if you can afford anything over probably $3 mil upward for a one/two bedroom dodgy apartment near the water then you are lucky.

If you are looking for a beach apartment visit Bondi or Coogee, South East. These are nice leafy suburbs but quite expensive. Maybe 15 to 30 mins drive form city centre.

West of the city is Pyrmont, Newtown and Leichhardt (little Italy), along with Glebe and Balmain, two peninsula suburbs. They are all very nice suburbs and they are not far from the city centre either - 15 mins by car. I love these suburbs.

To the west of Sydney you have Parramatta and Penrith settlements. I would not live past the suburb of Parramatta. Penrith is very far and I don't even go there no offence to anyone who lives in that area.

I don't know your financial situation but for a quite suburb full of green trees, clean and very good neighbourhood I would recommend The Hills District - Baulkham Hills, Winston Hills, Castle Hill, (Dural - expensive), Carlingford, Cherrybrook, Strathfield and Peemble - check those areas and see if the prices suit you. For a big house with land of about 700 square meters and upwards will cost you from $600,000 and every year the prices rise because they are such good areas to live in. Also have a look at Ryde, Epping, North Ryde - close to the city about 30 mins by car. Basically these suburbs are for the middle upper class people.

Check the suburbs in the North part of the city are called the North Shore (for the wealthy, clean, and close to the beach). They stretch 20km North of the city centre. The suburbs also stretch 20km South marked, like the North, by various National Parks.

Don't forget to do a search on Melbourne too - it is a very cosmopolitan, trendy full of young people. The weather is quite umpredictable there.

PM me if you have any more questions. :)

I wouldn't live in Melbourne - the weather is ****. 36 degrees celsius one day, pouring with rain the next. Didn't Jerry Seinfeild describe it as the 'anus of the world'? Lol. Being a footy fan from WA (AFL), I don't really like Victorians either. ;)

I enjoyed my time in Sydney but property is really expensive there. A reasonable house in a lower-class suburb in Sydney will cost about the same as a reasonable house in a middle-class suburb in Perth or Adelaide. It's quite ridiculous.

Sydney is becoming expensive and the sooner you buy property here the better for you can make a profit.
