I just started a new job, and a fellow I work with is an even bigger health nut than I. We were discussing minerals, and how the body cannot absorb absorb inorganic minerals, but only organic ones. Inorganic minerals are what is found in water and cheap vitamins. These minerals (Calcium, Magnesium, and Iron) are what make water "hard".

Anyways, as the discussion continued, he went on to tell me about a buddy of his that owns his own porta-potty company(A job most of us can only dream of :)) Apparently, whenever they empty these things, they find 1000's of totally undigested Centrum tablets. I guess you can still even read Centrum on them. Probably a few IP tabs too HEHE.

I guess the moral is: If you are on a budget, and are trying to save money on vitamins, save all your money and don't buy Centrum, or bite the bullet and buy something quality. Also, next time your Dr. tells you that you get enough minerals from water, kick them in their respective genitals because you can't absorb them.

My god, why are they looking that closely

lol - I sooo don't believe this.
not saying that they get fully absorbed - but drop a centrum into a glass of water for god's sake.
it will dissolve right there over time.

oh shit........wait a minute........ask if there is any Dbol tabs or Abombs in there, i need some to throw in for my next cycle..thanks

Just passing on an interesting tidbit. I know you can't absorb inorganic minerals. And....I do NOT trust everything a doc tells me.

Lastly, I'm keeping any dbols this guy finds :)

I agree that it is feasible that they aren't getting absorbed
but they get broken down out of the tablet form, and so he wouldn't be able to differentiate the powder in all the sludge.

hmmm, im not a 100% on this but

i think they do. they add minerals to bread etc to up peoples intake of them. i hink its a government drive so i dont see why they would do it if none of them are absorbed.

also i think some of them are absorbed via binding proteins etc that the gut can secrete. so i think some of them might be absorbed, just not all of them, i;d agree an organic form would have much better absorption.

It si true that they are only about 8% absorbed. You might as well throw half of the bottle away as that is the benefit you are getting! There is a new vitamin that is formutaed with oligofructose compounding, where your body absorbs about 85% of the vitamins and minerals in them. It mirrors the way the vitamins and minerals are found in food so your body can absorb them more readily.
