who wants to have a little friendly competitiion ???

right now my dead is at 410 pounds. shitty, but ive only been doing them for 7 mos. and previously i did no low back work

Anyways, who wants to race to quarter ton. ??? a little motivation never did anyone any harm

I'm in, but since I deadlift alot more than that, I can use my stiff legged deadlift. I just hit 425 for 5 this week. I would love to get it up to 495 for reps. I would have great hamstrings with those kind of numbers.

i guess you can include me, but i do full deads pretty rarely
last 1 rep dead was 415

i usually do them from the bottom pin to take my legs out of it as much as possible

i barely ever do full deads, maybe every 6 weeks or somehing. but 500 will be mine before DECEM (pun intended

count me in, i will max at the end of my cycle in 12 weeks....... so im sure some will beat me to it, but i will make it.

Here you have it folks. . .

BBF is out of everyones league. . .after all he is nearly as strong as Dorian Yates on the bench press, plus he is squatting more than Mike Francois in his prime.

No one should ever forget about BBFs 455lb bench press for a triple.

Post up some videos. . .champ!

Besides BBF. . .this thread was designed to see who is interested in a comp. . .not a bragging thread.

round 2. ding ding ding LOL

I have a video of me doing barbell rows of 325x4... but it is in quicktime and is like 15mb big... LOL -- I couldn't even send it to anyone :(

455 x 3 would be an impressive lift! :)

ive pulled 425 about 6 weeks ago with no chalk.

im going to keep training until i either max at the end of my cycle or compete, either way will be in december.

Alright, I'm in.

My best pull is 425.

What are the rules? How often are we going to test this, or is it up to each participant? Suit, no suit, belt, wrist wraps?

Create a thread similar to the back comp thread. Get pics from everyone in here and post them up all at once in like 6 weeks or something.

"THE OFFICIAL 400 CLUB DEADLIFTERS CONTEST"

:)

I will give it a shot, my best is 395 so far. I do not have a video cam and really would prefer not to carry my digital into the gym , so you will have to take my word for it.

okay, maybe start by saying what your pr is, and then next time you go for another on, put the pic, or just state if you hit another one, ???

I'm in. I haven't deadlifted in a while. My previous raw max was around 425ish.

This is a race too 500 raw?

not raw, but def. no straps

if you want you can take a video of you burning some straps :)

I'm your Huckleberry,
I got 385 last month, shooting for 405 in a few weeks. Let's get it on!! Gotta catch you guys sometime!

Citrus: didn't I see that video??? or was it the balls to the wall deadlift vid I saw?

CCJ: Chucks? Seriously. Please let us know how it feels to pull in them and if you think that they work better for you.

Darn it...I want 700 in October...badly.

chucks are nice to pull in. also to squat in. i like my OLY shoes for front squats or cleans. but for wide stance work where i have to sit back or if i have to sit back on a deadlift, chucks work the best for me.

Yeah my cousin came back from a 4 week holiday in the US, asked them to get me black pair. It's size 11, but maybe a half a size too long lengthwise, but it's ok width wise.

Feels pretty good so far walking around in them, but it feels like the heel is lower than than the front :)

damn dirt cheap though - $46AUD !

They will help my deads for sure, they don't wobble like the old BBall shoes I used to deadlift in. lower as well.

CoolColJ,
Ever since I started training ive been doing squats, deads, etc in either basketball or running shoes...do you really think id notice a difference if i switched to a different type of footwear? i never looked into squat shoes or anything cuz im not a powerlifter but do you think even a flat soled shoe would be better?

Oh yeah, much more stability, greater transfer of power etc.

normal shoes are kinda dangerous with all the mush , I would lose balance etc

chuck taylors are cheap anyway and don't compress anywhere near as much. Plus your lower to the ground which improves your deadlift leverage.

If you saw my 405lb deadlift clip, you can see me lose balance and rock on my feet in my old BBall shoes :)

My deadlift is just below 450 for an ugly single and about 415 for a quadruple. I'm hoping to get it to 230Kg (about 510 lbs) for a single ASAP. No idea how long it will take. I don't usually post on the training board but am starting now.

So I will modify my goal to 500 lbs (~227.5 Kg). Standard form.

I use steel tipped workboots. They are stable as hell. The only disadvantage would be that they are not quite as close to the ground.

I'm in too. I maxed out about 5 weeks ago at 405 (which in all reality was more of a stiff legged deadlift as my form went to hell). But 2 days ago i managed 385 x 7 so i think im making progress, i just have to get used to using more hips in the movement.
