Attention, All Devil Dogs

Funny thing..
I was never in the military, but as a Navy brat, I can speak of moving every 2 years, seeing my Mom deal with a lot of issues by herself, having my best friends Dad take me fishing because I had never been. I could go on and On...

If I could, I wouldn't change a thing

My Dad was career Navy, 28 years, 3 wars retired a CPO.
He was mainly a Corpsman and was once detached to a group of Marines in the Pacific as a Field Medic.
He told me after his first tour with them, he ditched his service 45 and got a small baretta auto.
It was easier to get to when diving from man to man in the dirt when he had to defend himself.

I hear people brag that they saw a lot of wild shit in either WW2, Korea or VNam.
During his 3 tours with the Marines he saw the BEFORE(walking patrol), the DURING(assaults)
and the AFTERmath(keeping as many alive as possible).

My Mom had all of his metals including one for Valor, framed with his rating badges for me a few years back. My 9 yr old daughter
still comments on it all of the time and I hear her tell her friends "My Grandfather was the best soldier ever"...sniff sniff...:bawling:

Kinda off topic. But is MAC flights a good ideal? I am on the east coast and don't have easy access to MX.

Yes, they are if you don't get stranded.

I absolutely respect a Navy Corpsman. To me there is no other Marine who deserves more respect. I salute any and all Navy Corpsman past, present and future. Without them we could not do our job. They bring us home to our family's always risking their life for ours and never questioning the reason why.

Thank you.

One of the most notorious US military actions which resulted in civilian causalities was Reagan’s 1986 attack on Qaddafi’s headquarters. The bombing left the Libyan leader’s daughter dead. A thought experiment: Imagine how much of Tripoli would be left standing tomorrow if today Libyan bombs rained down on Austin, Texas leaving the First Daughter and her dorm-mates buried in a pile of rubble.

hopefully very little.

and dont talk bad bout the first daughter....i like her boobies. :D

PAY ATTENTION

From the halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli,
We fight our country's battles in the air, on land and sea.
First to fight for right and freedom, and to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title of United States Marine.

Our flag's unfurled to every breeze from dawn to setting sun.
We have fought in every clime and place, where we could take a gun.
In the snow of far off northern lands and in sunny tropic scenes,
You will find us always on the job,The United States Marines.

Here's health to you and to our Corps which we are proud to serve.
In many a strife we've fought for life and never lost our nerve.
If the Army and the Navy ever look on heaven's scenes,
they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines.

Now the evening shadows gather, the lonely night is here.
This day which has been so empty is almost gone.
Oh Dear God, be with my husband who is so far from home.
Help him when the thoughts of his loved ones bring the awful heartache on.
Lord, let him know that with Your ever-lasting love, You are right beside him
With Your loving mercy from above.
Help him with his heartache, with the closeness of a friend, a smile of understanding.
It will lift the burden from his heart.
Let him also be a blessing to one who needs him.
Let him feel the prayers of his loved ones whose thoughts are always with him.
And, Dear God, when the tide has turned against him,
His whole world seems upside down,
Let him see things more clearly.
Show him how to love Thee more dearly.
Let his faith in Thee stay unbroken.
Inspire him with new courage every day so that he will soon be with us.
Make him strong to run the race.

Amen
