I'm thinkinf of moving down there from the mid west. What can I expect w/ life, entertainment, gyms, women and cost of living? Any other info would be helpful. thanx

kuda75 you can drink winny too, newbie

some people have a bunch of post under their handle, but they really didn't have real input. You know shit busta. People like you are making this board go down the drains. If I was real tipped off by a comment from a immature bitch like you, I'd ask to meet you at Circle Center Mall or Conseco to put a whoopin on that ass.

I feel better now.

hey man i'm moving to Atlanta this fall myself from the midwest..I'm from Ohio...and I start chiropractic school in Marietta GA (10 mins outside downtown atlanta) and I've visited down there before..

the scene looks great, and people I went to college with who are from atlanta love it. Theres never a boring night or nothing to do...plenty of shit for all tastes..

sports, art, theatre, etc. etc....plus you could always go to the strip club :)

kak sounds like he is on the atlanta tourism board.

Then again he is coing from Ohio so a backwater like Atlanta seems like a metrpolis.

JK Kak.

I lived in ATL for a few years and it was OK. At first it is awesome. You'll go out in Buckhead and there are a lot of bars and clubs, easy to meet girls etc.

After a while you will get tired of Buckhead. 6 months max. There is stone mountain and Little Five Points which you will tire of soon.

One good thing about atlanta is that you are close to a
lot of stuff. Savannah, Charleston SC, Florida panhandle are all right there, even new Orleans is only 6-7 hours.

Apaprtments are al the same. All the apartment complexes are cut with the same cookie cutter to accommodate the rush of transplanted northerners.

I recommend the Vinings area...

good lcuk

Yeah right. In two months you will tired of Buckhead. Then you will have to hook up with Jae or Ryan for entertainment.

Atlanta is fast and enjoyable, but it is in no way a metropolis like NCY or London, L.A. etc.... Just stay out of Bankhead, College Park and the South Side and you will do ok.

Don't move here. I grew up here and live here now. It's, of course, my home, and there are aspects about it I like. But overall, it has no class, no culture. And, the people have a "business like" mentality. A world class city, Atlanta is not.

In short, move to the City----New York City.

Atlanta is pretty cool. It's not NYC or LA but it's not bad. I been here 4years and don't have too many complaints. Cost of living is dirt cheep when compared to other big cities(gas going for $1.13) and there's lots of good looking women here too. And there nuthin' wrong with that!

hey f/n show..what up man...where u been?? hows your fiance?? anyways i'll be down there in about 4 weeks..i'll keep ya updated with whats up

Shit I just haven't been posting anywhere much lately but I'm still around. Fiance?? Yeah right. Although I am talking to my ex again. I'm sure a lot of y'all know how that is.

I'm not far out from Atlanta but the women are hottttt!!!! RADAR

The only thing that makes Atlanta bearable is leaving it regularly. For young guys out of the sticks, it's a paradise. As several people have indicated, it's a party town, but that grows thin rapidly for most....and then there's not much to do. The only town in America I know as ugly as Atlanta is Denver. There is no downtown life after 5 p.m.

I've known a handful of people who move to Atlanta because they are attracted by the lower cost of living. They always say they can buy a house here, where they can't in the industrial NE or on the west coast. Maybe so, but it seems like a poor reason to live anywhere to me. And in any case most people in that situation end up living in the burbs and hating it.

I must say that Atlanta, because it is predominantly Af/Am and has a huge gay population, is pretty tolerant. There are some decent universities in town. But if you're attracted to the arts, you'll be in a place 10 to 15 years behind the times. Mainly Atlanta is about manic economic growth.
