atkins advantage bar

Questions about nutrition label:

atkins advantage bar:
Total Fat: 10g
Total Carb: 22g
-dietary fiber 10g
-sugar 0
Protein 20g
Calories 220

IF the total carbs is 22 and the fiber is 10 where do the rest of the carbs come from. If you multiply the carbs times 4 you get 88 calories. If you multiply the protein times 4 you get 80 calories. IF you multiply fat times 9 you get 90. That adds up to 258 yet the calories on the label read 220. What am I missing.

Thanks

Most "low carb" bars, add glycerine to the bar, that's where your extra calories are coming from. That's what makes the "low carb" bars so sweet. The glycerine, even though it's an alcohol sugar, has minimal impact on insulin levels. I do think that companies should put the amount of glycerine that the bar has in it, on the label as sometimes it can be misleading. Especially for someone that doesn't know what they are looking for.

8.5 grams of the dietary fiber isn't in the calorie count on the lable because they are technically carbs, but are carbs that will not be absorbed into the bloodstream. Fiber that will not be absorbed is still required to be on the lable, listed as carbs, but will not be counted into the calories.
Come on people this should be common knowledge to most of the people on the board, why no other answers?

Remeber what I've mentioned before, they have hidden calories and carbs. Most don't show glycerin on the nutrition labels, and most have more carbs then they list. You're not missing anything, it's a trick of the big corporations.
