For creative reasons, I have a shorter than usual segment this week; I will try to post another segment later this week. Regular readers thanks for sticking with me, new readers let me know what you think (after reading the other segs)!

Update: I have decided to make every Tuesday the day for ATBG segment releases. Look for them on Tuesdays == and remember, your PMs, encourgements to keep going, creative criticisms, etc... always appreciated!

1500 feet.

A preternatural creature clawing its way from the confines of a birth shell, the pod exfoliated the last of its battered skin and electronic accessories as it fell — revealing gleaming, locust-like battle armor beneath.

Flexing the suit’s thickened arms and legs, the shock trooper surveyed the rapidly scrolling systems and weapons screens that projected over his helmet’s interior visage. Through mirrored eye slits, the creature took in the rapidly approaching cityscape that grew larger as he descended.

Via a complex mesh of wires and circuitry originating from the pressurized armor’s interior walls and terminating through small surgical slits in the trooper’s arms, legs and torso, the commando activated the suit’s targeting, boost, weapons and EMF protection systems. A predatory tribal Xian battle hymn lit the audio system as he guided the 12-foot tall, 4,000-pound suit’s fall via small blue surface thrusters.

In a grim approximation of mirth, the beginning of a smile haunted the pale, sallow lips of the trooper. This is what he had been created for. Soon, he would enjoy the ultimate prize.

Finally, he would die.

As it reached the beginning of the city’s roofline, the trooper bumped the armor’s side and back thrusters with the precision of an automaton. The suit slid stealthily through the sprawling tangle of the city’s spires, arced roofs and minarets.

Twilight surrendered to night over Ibiza.

Thanks for reading it -- and responding... Keeps me going on the story!

Again, veddy veddy good.

To echo Wodin, you have a good knack for painting the reader a portrait of the surroundings/people etc.

Shit is about to go down. I look forward to the next one. Get writing.

Have a good one, Machine.

Thank you my friend. The next segment is in progress... Looks like CrumCake has bumped a lot of your older writings today... good to re-read them.

Working on anything new?

Damn . . . I hope you plan on putting this in book form. This is very captivating. Can't wait till all hell brakes loose.

Good karma is on it's way to you.

I am writing it as a book. I'm also working with an artist at my work to illustrate segments for submission to Heavy Metal... IF he ever gets off his ass and does some pencils...

Thank you for the good Karma, and more importantly, your readership and comments.

No (I wouldn't mind), by all means, feel free -- I'd love to see what you come up with...

Awesome as ever...You gave me something to look forward to every week! The plot is developing well in such a short amount of space. I was intrigued from the beginning, but now I'm thoroughly hooked. Can't wait for impact.

68GTO350 -- Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you are enjoying the trip... Age-wise? /// Old enough to have two kids, a mortgage, two car payments, etc... :)

fantom1 -- It's "sincerely" -- isn't that misspelling how they nabbed you on one of the fake Blaster "confession" notes? Seriously, thanks for the comments, I'm glad you are looking forward to the next segment.
