Someone please tell me why black people refer to each other as nigger. Such as "What's up nigger?" or "Did you see what that nigger did." I heard this talk in the gym tonight. If a white person referred to them as nigger they would be upset and understandably so, so why do they call each other that?

Also, it's not advisable to call them "nigga" unless you are "invited" to. It could be taken the wrong way.

It's a way to downplay the negativity associated with a racial pejorative- take it into your own language, change it up a little, make a joke of it. Now it's just suck a part of the black culture that most aren't even consciously thinking of it like that.

Italians do the same thing. My family is 100% italian and when i am around them they call each other coupadre (goombaday) goomba for short which means italian friend. Now if a non italian called them that they would be swimmin with the fishes. Just thought i would enlighten all you non italian bastards here and teach you a thing or two.

I believe the word dubs comes from drugs. If you go get a sack of grass, crack, cocaine or whatever your vice is they don't give you 22 dollars worth, they give you $20 worth. A dub sack.
