aspiration

when you guys aspirate, do you see air bubbles in the syringe? well i do and im not sure if this is normal..
Nothing to worry about. You could point the tip of the syringe downwards, this will cause a major buble to travel t the bottom, then point back up and as the buble ascends to the top,you can then squeeze it out.Small bubles are normal and are usually the result of drawing out the contents too quickly or the nature of the contents itself.
However keep in mind I think it takes approx.3cc's of air into a vein to cause enough obstruction to kill you,so don't sweat it.

don't sweat the small stuff and when i say small stuff i mean the air bubles. it takes a lot more than you think directly into a vein to kill you.

What do you do if the syringe does rush with blood? I know you need to find another spot but do you still use the same syringe just with a new needle?

have been aspoirating- jus makin sure i do it right- when pin is in u pull back slightly on the syringle plunger and if no blood (or a tiny bit) comes in to syringe then u r good to go????

i know but should there be air bubbles- usually i get nothing back in once i am in- so i ssume that is good- i dont pull back really hard jus enuf to create a vacuum.

From what I remember, when I would aspirate. There would be tiny tiny tiny buddles. I mean they were so microscopic that I didn't worry about them. I wouldn't worry about them. But anytime you do get any blood, I'd pull out, replace the needle, and inject on the other glute.

When I aspirate air bubbles come up into the syringe sometimes but not all the time it's normal. If you read the info on injections a little air coming up is normal. I don't even sweat it. I just make sure to get every single tiny air bubble out before I stick myself. The air that comes up after that is nothing to worry about.

Anyone else think its weird that when you aspirate air comes into the syringe? I mean like wheres the air coming from?? There aren't air pockets in body are there??

Lately i have been getting some large bubles, i mean not the tiny ones im used to seeing, and with the 23 guage its really hard to aspirate, i can barely pull the plunger out becuase of the vacuum like effect..

fuck aspirating. I've never done it in over 20 years. Flame away.

ive always wondered why sometimes i get a vacumm affect where there are no bubbles or blood i usualy just shoot away and not worry about it...no blood=shoot away in my book

seems more than likely that its just atmosphere leaking past the luer-lock threads.

You ever hit a vien?
I 've had some bleeders, is proper procedure to aspirate and if you hit a vien restick the needle somewhere else. I don't wanna turn my ass into more of a pin cushion than it has to be.
