Aspiration Question...

spotinjections.com says that if you aspirate and see blood you have to pull out, change needles and start over.

Does this mean you put a new needle on the syringe that has the juice and blood in it? Or do they mean you have to toss that dose and draw a fresh one?

If it's the first of the two... Is it possible/sterile to just pull the needle out a 1/4", re-aspirate, and if you don't see more blood, inject without pulling out?

* put a new needle on the end...pick a new spot, and let errr rip...

* I wouldn't do that. Needles are cheap. Medical bills are NOT. Now that its said...it prolly isn't going to kill you.

Technically, if you pull any blood into the barrel you're supposed to ditch the whole thing. That said, on the few rare occasions where I've hit a vein, I just pulled out and re-plunged...

All you need to do is reinject right away, your not going to be contaminated by your own blood. Unless you throw the works on your dresser to use at a later time after bacteria has had a chance to grow.:)

This has happened to me boefore when I did a shoulder shot. I aspirated the first time, got a drop of blood, pulled the pin out, and inject somewhere else. I used the same pin, and left the drop of blood in the gear.

No biggie.
