aspiration / over rated????

ok i am still new at this but how important is aspiration. i was doing it because of all the advice i received but then i actualy hit a vein.. WOW.. i didnt need to aspire to know that.. it hurt like hell. i pulled out and blood was just dripping out..... is it possible to hit a vein and not feel it????? because i will never have to aspire if thats what hittin a vein feels like.

You may have only gone through a vien, and not actually injected into one. If you actually injected into one, you would know it....

no i didnt inject, after i felt the pain i pulled out and re injected.. i still did aspiration... but will all veins feel like that one?

Yes, most viens feel the same, BUT, I don't notice all of them. I can usually tell when I have passed through a vien, but there have been times where I haven't felt a thing, and I pull out the pin, and a gusher is right behind it.
