Aspirating and drawing blood.

What do you do?

Edit: sorry, just to be more clear. If i aspirate and blood comes into my syringe, what do i do next? Withdraw, push in? What?

If that's what happened to me, I would pull out, change the needle, stick it back in and shoot. I don't aspirate though and neither does your doctor.

Its your blood it wont hurt. I hit a vein yesterday on the way in, I pushed in more and injected. I am still alive today and ok.

Take out the needle. Reinsert in a slightly different position, aspirate again, no blood? Inject.

although if you see blood don't be alarmed bro. A couple of times I aspirated & nothing, injected & withdrew and blood running down my ass cheeks lol this is probably nicking a vein on the way out and should not be of concern.

I have probably done over 1000 injections and never aspirated once...neither has my buddy who has probably 10,000 injections+ under his belt, lol.

There is no need to. In fact, the more you move that needle once it's inside, the more shit you jack up.

I tend not to aspirate as I pin myself and end-up moving the pin around doing more damage (bruising/pain). I (think) I hit part of a vein once and all I got was a crazy head rush, hot flash, nausea, and coughed like a mad man--and one hell of a bruise. That said, I do not load a whole barrel--1.5 at most as I use the needle for one pin only.

I haven't aspirated for the better part of 15 years. I completely healthy. I get bloodwork every few months and have never had any issues.

Following this thread also, I see the pros and cons why/why not do it. Sounds like the aspiration is really to make sure you dont inject the fluid into a vein because it can make you sick/kill you etc....

So much conflicting info out there. Just read an article where it is now ok to eat carbs just before going to bed to lose fat and help build muscle argghhhh!, sorry back to the OP question, of all my injections by
the doc they have never aspirated, and I have gotten hundreds over the years and I am still here. What gives?

I have yet to aspirate, think its a little overrated, no problems that I've seen.

I aspirate religiously however after reading this I have never really done any research into it and think I might not aspirate for a bit and see how I go, because aspirating when injecting into my glutes is a bitch

This is correct. I would change the needle as well. I would never use the same needle to reinsert into soft tissue. PIIP for me everytime...

I hope that when you are injecting your pushing the needle all the way in and not leaving some of the Needle exposed... You push the needle allt he way in and then aspirate.... Thats sounds like a recipe for a disaster..... Broken needle and instand trip to the ER and Emergency surgery needed bro...

I guess Im old school when aspirating, due to the fact years ago I struck an artery and aspirated and it was not pleasant.. lol I think aspirating probably saved me some major issues then..
