logically one would assume that there had to be a chicken before the egg

but scientifically one must propose that the genetic makeup of an animal does not change during it's lifetime.

therefore the enbryo of the first chicken would have evolved from an eariler bird in prehistoric times, so the first chicken would have started in that first chicken egg
