i dont think india and china criticised anyone over kyoto. i think they basically quietly whistled and walked out of the room while america took a pasting

as far as i understand with my back of cereal packet understanding of science, this is less to do with fossil fuels and more to do with 'dirty' burning of them, which is why im guessing itsa brown cloud due to all the nasties we dont produce as much of because of our stringent emmission laws (which some of our leaders seem hell bent on allowing industry to self regulate). europe criticised the US about kyoto, but if the cloud is a brown cloud of the nasty bad combusted kind, its probably down to the people it hangs over, india and china and not europe. not that eastern europe is a environmental paradise either

I lived in Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Hong Kong is polluted and Guangzhou is much worse. One day walking around Guangzhou will give me dirty snot and sore eyes for at least another day. I can't imagine worse, although it seems to be worse in Bangkok and many other SE Asian cities and Chinese cities.
