Asbestos health question

So I was replacing a whole room light in my house yesterday. When I took the fixture out, in the back there is this yellow insulation crap in the back of it. I kept coughing off that stuff as I tried to readjust the light. They I thought to myself that it could be asbestos and could be dangerous.

My question is, is that insulation sh*t asbestos and if so, could exposure to it for a few hours be hazardous? Man I don't wanna die yet

Good luck man. I hope it wasn't, that stuff is horrible. I've seen people who have suffered from exposure, but they worked in the removal industry. Find out to be certain, because it stays in the air for a long time, and you don't want you or anyone close to you breathing that junk.

yeah sucks it had to be carcinogenic

as far as i know its the crocodile or 'blue' asbestos thats particularlyh bad, im not sure its actually blue in colour though

try googling for it?

We have an asbestos lined cabinet at work where chemicals are stored, and it was a grey/blue before we painted it. The health department said we had to paint it so that we wouldn't accidentally scrape any off. Like that one coat of paint is going to seal it.
