Art made from cadavers???

I was watching Ripley's Believe it or Not last night, and there was this man on there who made art from cadavers. It was SO cool.

This guy actually plasticized bodies and cut them into different statuous figures. It was very intriguing. Has anyone ever seen that? He even had one guy ( he looked like a muscle man from Gray's anatomy book) and he was holding his skin in his hand.

It was messed up shit. There is actually a building (I want to say Berlin...but maybe it was...oh hell...I don't remember where it was) that he has a huge exhibit in. It was showing people's faces as they looked at these "sculptures." It was classic. I would love to go see it.

Da Vinci used them to draw from, as did many others.

There is a guy now (well, actually I think he is dead), but he would fill the veins with a plastic and then get rid of the rest, so you would have the intricate system all in front of you, vaguely human shaped.

Joseph Beuys might be who you are speaking of though.
He is German and he does that with... well, actually, I'm not sure if he does humans - but def livestock.
There is a reference to him in the movie the cell - done in CG with a live horse (a cg live horse)

Yep, pretty freaky stuff! Wish I had them in my Anatomy lab back in the day!

I think Joseph was the guys name, but he only had one animal in his exhibit. He actually had a rider on top of it, too! Really wicked stuff. And there was also a vein man, like you were talking about---HS.

Wait a minute...the second guys name rings a bell, too.

OH hell...same here! I did well in anatomy, but something like that would have been wonderful.
