But his trainng methods recomended are absurd, even with use of heavy doses of AS. He's also a straight up hypocrite (spelling?) as far as denouncong steroid use. Overall though a great book to have on your BB library. Unfortunately I must once again critisice Arnold. I cannot respect him. No offense to his fans (lots on this board). The man is not god.

Nelson Montana said:Without a doubt, Weider was instrumental in Arnolds success. But a studio apartment, and free supplements are hardly a pinch for a mega millionaire. The difference with Arnold and the others was that Arnold wasn't spoiled. He saw it as a great opportunity. All the other guys were bitching that Weider was a cheap fuck.
Arnold got the part in Hercules because he wanted it, because was the biggest guy around, and because he was willing to work for peanuts. But it was Punping Iron that made Arnold, no doubt about it. He became an instant celebrity, but probably would have faded had it not been for Conan. He STILL would have been a has-been if he turned down the part in Terminator. (Which he was ready to do, when he lost the lead role ) And well, the rest is history.
Interestingly enough, Weider remained a mentor to Arnold and convinced him thet the part of a robot with 5 lines was good career move. Unbelievable.
