I was wondering what are your guys favorite arm exercises: bis and tris. I am currently doing the Old School workout which I love. Also incorporate a bi and tri exercise on the first day. I guess my question is mainly what exercises are the most effective. I have always had problems getting my arms to grow. Currently I only do barbell curls, dips, and skull crushers. Would dumbell curls or other exercises be more effective? Thanks

Those 3 exercises you listed are great mass builders...I also like hammer curls for the biceps and pushdowns(rope or bar) at the end for tris...

IMHO... No and yes and maybe....

Everybody`s arms (be it mentally or physically) will react somewhat differently to certains exercises and equipment, aka. barbell or dumbells. It comes down to you finding out what feels and works best for YOU !!!
Trial and error. Exploration. To boldly curl where no man has curled before.

The standing barbell curl is a standard mass builder pure and simple. No arguement there. It will never go out of style or fashion. Nothing fancy about it. It works. So are dumbells curls. So are preachers and incline curls. Nothing ventured/nothing gained. Follow me ? Exercise all your options until you find the magic bullet thats works best for you know who.

What is most important is the amount of effort you put into what it is you decide to do and always attempting to up the poundages.

As a foot note.......... the exercises you listed are all winners. The previous poster mentioned doing hammer curls and I agree. Hammer curls rock.

Pump on .....

My top choices would be EZ curl bar preachers and Alternating dumbell curls with a twist at the top for biceps, and skull crushers on an incline bench for triceps

walkingbeast,
Ive never tried incline skull crushers...you like? Ive tried decline with a straight bar and the usual flats. However, i have never got anything from skulls, so i dont do them every week, maybe every 3-4.
