8/18 update; we have ordered his new wheeled cart and are hoping this helps with his mobility. Meet PIP, our "special needs" puppy. Pip was born 5/28/10 and is a handsom Blenheim Cavalier born with a birth defect. Pip has Lumbar Kyphosis, better known as "hunchback". It is not surgically repairable. He would make an awesome therapy dog for kids with spinal issues and confined to wheelchairs. The veterinary specialists say he's not in any pain, and although clumsy on tile floors, he walks fairly well-even tries to run -on carpeting and grass. He often drags his back legs behind him, and he will eventually function best in a doggie wheelchair, as his back legs will continue to weaken. Other than this problem; we expect him to have a full life; he is very healthy; he has no heart murmur, perfect teeth, and he's very playful and happy. He is learning potty training just like any other puppy, he loves people, cats, and other dogs, and will be best off in a home with a family who has a lot of time and patience for training and caring for a very special needs puppy. If you can give this special boy a forever home he will pay you back tenfold guaranteed.
