Arimidex dose?

c gheller said:
How much Adex if any should i run with my HRT dose of 250mg/week?

I'm assuming your HRT is doctor prescribed, I suggest you talk to him first before taking tips on EF. If not, .25mgs EOD is fine.

Yes it is Doc prescribed and i have had countless tests and seen any number of Endos. I have been contemplating HRT since 2000 when my issues started, but have rode out the symptoms until now. This is NOT by choice as i know some do, i have two small kids and i need the energy to keep up with them. Thanks X

Low dose arimidex is all you need .25mgs EOD (even E3D) is fine.

Is that due to the test being at a moderate dose or because it's an hrt 'cycle'? I usually see adex recommended at .5mg ED but that's with doses of test much higher than 250.

What are your E2 levels like? What else are you taking as part of your HRT? What does your doc say about the amount of Adex to take?

You've got some bad suggestions there. I wouldn't take any arimidex if you just started HRT. And if you do, take it daily so your blood levels aren't on a roller coaster. About 4-6 weeks into your HRT they will want to measure E1 and E2 levels and you'll mess them up taking arimidex. After that you can take a half ever day if you want.

It's not a cycle, it's HRT, doctor prescribed. Some patients, not all, do get prescribed anti-Es like arimidex for HRT; hence, the reason I said he should consult with his doctor before adding it. The low dose is case sepecific, as most cycle are done with 0.5mgs - 1mg ED of arimidex.

Well Bro my Doc doesnt seem to have much of a clue, even what blood test i require monitoring. I am trying desperately to find a Doc willing to help with knowledge on this. Even two of the endo's ive seen are very basic. Although i have seen a feww Endos all saying the same thing , i am not going to commit myself to this with out the right people on my team........ all the Bros here have been awesome!

FWIW: check out http://www.allthingsmale.com . If you like what you see, drop Dr. Crisler a note/give him a call. IMO, he's a great guy. He can work with your doctor or directly with you.

I'd venture to say that he might consult with you via e-mail/fax.

Well Bro i emailed him last night so im really hoping he will. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

I do physician-monitored HRT.

They used to give me 200 mg's of Cyponate EW and even at that light dose, they had me on 0.5 mg's of Adex EoD starting at week 3

Now, with 250 mg's/week of "Ultratest" they have me at 0.5 mg's EoD

And a while back, I talked them into 10 weeks of 450 mg's of "Ultratest" EW (long story)... but even then they had me at 0.5 mg's EoD.

I may just have a lazy HRT doc!

If you use Adex too much and drive your Estrogen levels too low, I think you may have erection problems.

Actually you're better off not working with Crisler. First of all he's not a medical doctor and second he learned most of what he knows about PCT from this board.

I'm sure in a country with millions of ppl. you'll be able to find a good HRT doctor, it'll take some search I suspect.

So i take it Arimidex at these dosages is safe to take long term? For the rest of your life if need be? Ulter whats your opinion on this?
Do you incorporate HCG into your plan?

IMO its not needed and could worsen your lipid levels over long term use.
I dont think there is anything unhealthy about a little estrogen. It helps with lipids.

Ulter what is E-1 and E-2? Pardon my ignorance on this.

Yes but if you are experiencing E sides then you would need Arimidex....yes?

yes, you do need it. You can still get gyno with lower test levels.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but, I've heard that he learned everything from:

(a) the old MFW newsgroup back in the 90's
(b) here
(c) Bill Roberts

Seems strange that he has developed an original hcg protocol, and done some solid research to back it up.

Yes, he's not an MD. He's a DO - and, fwiw, I've always picked DO's over MD's. They're allowed to prescribe, operate, they get board certified, admitting privileges, have specialties and sub-specialties. The big difference is that they are trained in a more holistic approach, including nutrition.

My family doctor/sports medicine is a DO. So are the 8 other partners in his practice.

OTOH, the MD I used to go to told me that as I got older, I should stop lifting weights and accept a lowered sex drive, and just learn to age normally, and that if I took any kind of HRT/TRT, I'd die a horrible nasty death.

Just my experience, of course.

No, he didn't. I was written up in 90's but disgaurded because it never made sense to add estrogen to a cycle. Now the people are using AI's in their cycles it's not as bad an idea. Although I don't recommend it.

FWIW he's been banned on several boards over the last 4 years for solicitation.

Thanks for the clarification on the hcg protocol.

I didn't realize he was banned from some boards, thanks for the heads up on that.

FWIW, I just started using him, have no affiliation...travelled out to meet him face-to-face, and he seemed genuine, knowledgeable, and like somebody i would trust. No more, no less, and that's the only reason i was trying to help out a bro!

If you have any recommendations for other HRT programs, let me know, please, I owe ya!

There is no such thing as estrogen as a hormone. Since it's easier to use to that word than to explain every time that they are "estrogens" people just use the word that way.
Estrogens are catagory of hormones not the name of one. E1 is estrone and E2 is estrodial.

Thanks for clearing that up for me bro. I knew about estrone and estrodial but was always under the impresion those were in addition to estrogen, when in fact they make it up.

Thank you for taking the time to help.
