Area One Music Festival

Has anyone here been?

I wanna go (tomorrow) for Incubus/Outkast/Roots but don't know if it's worth it to watch each perform like 2 songs till the next group comes on. . .

Also. . . how was the dj tents? (music genres)

It wasn't too bad. I went Wednesday, but I got the ticket free. I liked Incubus, but I am more into Okenfold (sp?) and Moby. The DJ tents were bumping but you need to have some time to just hang out and listen. I am not sure if I would pay for the tickets, but I did enjoy what I saw.

I went yesterday to the Area Festival in George, Wa.

DJ tent lineup was someone that cancelled(can't remember who) Timo Maas, The Orb, Oakenfold.

Timo's set was so-so. He was spinning in some rock-n-roll into house beats, yuck. He did spin a few good tracks though. I don't like the Orb, weird. As for Oakenfold, he did mostly club anthems, the crowd there was a bunch of newbies and rave kiddies for the most part, Euro trance probably wouldn't have gone over well with most of the crowd, pisses me off he changed style to gain popularity in America. I first heard Oakenfold 4 years ago when I got ahold of a mp3 of one of his spins in Miami, became instantly addicted to his laid back trance style. Last night it was hard house, erk.

At the same time, I was glad Oakenfold didn't use Ubik in his set, he's used that track waay to long.
