Or, if the people he THOUGHT loved him show little reaction, that is pretty depressing too.

If one of my loved ones did this to me, I would seriously wonder why they would pull such a stunt. It remeinds me of the part of Mark Twain where he daydreams about his funeral and everyone being sorry he was gone. I would think that that person was needing some attention.
