Apparently, it doesn't seem to matter what we do

A friend of mine had to fly home over the weekend to help her mother deal with the issues surrounding the recent, severe heart attack of her father. A healthy man in his late 60's who has never smoked, rarely drinks, avoids deep fried foods and has been addicted to fitness for over 40 years. Now he is unconscious in a hospital bed. It seems that no matter how healthy we try to be, no one is truly safe. :(

That's terrible; I sure pray he's going to be alright.

You never really know what's going to happen from day to day!!!

I'm sorry to hear about this...I hope that he's alright and has a swift recovery.

So true... when these things happen, you're reminded of just how precious and fragile life is.

I'm praying that he pulls through. My friend's mother has never known a life without him. :(

My heart goes out to you, your friend, and your friend's family... I pray that he'll make it through and be alright.

Thank you ladies.

God bless him with a speedy recovery. The thing is you never know is would he have had a heart attack sooner if he did not workout? Say in his 40's. There are many factors that affect cardiac health in males, one of the critically important ones is Testosterone. At his age, low test and intense exercise is asking for trouble.

My prayers are with him and those worrying for him

My best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.....it does seem tho, that bad things do happen to the wrong people & make no sense at all....

Nope, the minute you walk out the front door and get in your car, you are risking death. No day is guauranteed. What happened to that guy is the exception, not the rule. He probably had high cholesterol, anything over 150 is a risk of heart attack. Very sorry to hear it.

god that F*CKING SUCKS. a life of restraint without the payoff of longevity. this situation upsets me 10x more than others. best of luck.
