what kind of stuff would a part time Patient Care Assistant position in Pediatrics Department involve??

i know it involves small children, but what kinda stuff does the jov involve on a daily basis? and is it a job worth $9.53/hr

i couldnt handle being with sick and injured kids for $9.53 an hour. too much mental stress i would think.

depends what yer other options are offering

A Patient Care Assistant (PCA) is trained to perform basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse. They have a broad range of work responsibilities that include bathing patients, feeding patients who are not able to feed themselves, assisting patients in and out of bed, dressing and shaving patients, making beds, and measuring vital signs.

It wouldn't be too bad in pedisatrics if you like kids, But no way would you want that job on any hospital floor, Unless you like giving grown adults bed bath and cleaning up shit. Most men I know would have a problem with that for any extent of time.

But if it is in an ICU or pediatrics, It would probably be an okay gig if 9.53 an hour is one of your better paying options

yea i was figuring the job would suck, but in peds it might not be that bad

changing and bathing adults certainly isnt what i want to do, but kids i can deal with and it might be a good gig while i'm goin through paramedic school

how long until you are through with paramedic school. im an EMT-b and im trying to scrape up the money for paramedic school. Good Luck to you. National Registry blows.

i just started this week. will be done in august. 700+ hours in total.

yea nat'l reg is gonna blow, but the basic one sucked enough

i'm just lookin for a job in the field so it looks good on the resume until i'm done with medic school and i can work as a medic.

i dont really feel like working as a basic on a private ambulance and bein a taxi for old folk who need to go see the doc

I work in a hospital but for IT. It kinda sucks sometimes because all the public DOES NOT want to be here for obvious reasons.
Also alot of different stuff floats around the air...

$9 per hour is NOT a good pay.

You can get that working at the front desk of your gym. There are many other avenues of employment part time that you can do that is more rewarding than the heart break of seeing small children in dire situations.

this is true, but i'm lookin for something in the related field for experience so i can transfer to a ER paramedic in august
