Anyone used Rosetta Stone to learn another language?

I wouldn't pay for a course to learn another language. You can get whatever you need free online, unless it's not a widely spoken language.

I used it for Portuguese. It is a good course, with good use of images. You can get through the lessons pretty fast but you may not feel like you're learning because it doesn't seem like you retain much once you close out the program and walk away from it.

Its best if you're in an environment where you can practice speaking the language with others.

Good point, but there is a viable alternative.

You have to use video on Youtube, Google, etc to constantly expose yourself to the sound of native speakers, and you also have to talk to yourself in the new language every chance you get. In the car, exercising, whenever, talk out loud to yourself in sentances you create. You must make your brain create communication in the new language.
