for shoulder pain? or what is that gel stuff you can get shot in there as a cushion barrier that everyone swears by?

chris can you explain more? My dad is 62 and has some serious shoulder pain this might be something he would ned to check into.

its basically replacement synovial fluid to provide better lubrication. It works okay for some people, other people dont see any benefits. If I remember correctly, its 1 injection a week for 3-4 weeks and each injection is about 400 bucks (covered by some insurances).

Footdoc should be able to tell you more about it. It should be right up his alley.

I dont know wtf aflutop is tho.

i've had synvisc or supartz in both of my knees several times now..definitely made a difference..used to go every six months..haven't been back for around 2 years..pain kinda backed off a bit and stabilized and flexibility increased and hasn't deteriorated..mine was covered by insurance.

also used this thing for a year or so on both knees..it helped too Home - BioniCare

Did you feel like Steve Austin (Lee Majors), aka. The Six Million Dollar Man?

You wore that on both knees at the same time?

yes..both knees..same time..between that and the injections, i'm sure that i've reset my tkr clock by a few years.

Well that ain't gonna fit my shoulder.

Regarding the other injections... were they painful?

unfortunately they don't make a shoulder model.

nah. . .they give you novocaine (which is a little stingy) before they shove the 20-guager down inside the joint. . .it was always a little achey afterward (when the novocaine wore off) but nothing that a couple of motrins didn't take care of.

Aflutop is for animals...right? Or is that Adequan? Can't remember which one is sold here in Europe. It isn't that expensive either.

I know some athletes that use it but NOBODY swears by it to be honest.
