Anyone taking Glutamine before cardio?

I just started doing cardio today and a good friend of mine at the gym recommended to take glutamine before I do any cardio since it helps reduce the amount of "wear" on your muscles, so I guess it helps retain muscle mass during cardio and helps concentrate more on fat loss. True? If so, how much should I take before cardio?

the huck meister said you should take it everyday because even on the day's your aren't working out your muscles are still recooping so it would help to take it on off days and cardio days to help you recover faster. (don't quote me on this)
