Anyone take prozac?

I take Lexapro and after 3 years I dont think it helps so Im going to begin weening myself off of it.

Of course Ive upped the dose from 10mgs to 40mgs in that 3 years. Taking trazadone for a bit as well, then switched to mertazapine for a few days. Both made me feel like crap the following day.

did effexor for a bit but it caused delayed ejaculation and just made me not give a shit about anything. Like I wasnt sad, but I wasnt happy either.

Basically the only thing I see worth taking is some alprazolam when Im feeling some anxiety. Otherwise, the others just dont do anything. I still have my OCD's and chew my fingernails and those things really arent that bad to warrant SSRI's for me.

Basically after 3 years Ive come to the conclusion its that I just have a difficult home life and no medication is going to take care of that. I just need to deal. Plain and simple. SSRI's dont get the chores done and dont pay the bills.

Just saying.

Cymbalta (duolexin) is a newer med out that you might ask your doctor about. It's an SSNRI, but has a large number of uses across the board.

Not prozac specifically, but a few NRI's and SSNRI's for nerve pain.

I was thinking about trying it, and was just wondering if it affects lifting or dieting in any negative way.

Why are you "thinking about trying" Prozac?

Well because I've had depression issues all my life. I was prescribed some other medication when I was in the military, but now that I'm out that prescription is no longer good, and I don't feel like going through all the counseling bullshit. So I've been thinking about giving it a try.

It helped me get through ocd as a kid. I started out with 20mg (1 pill) and went up to 80mg a day over the course of a few years. It was like a defensive line to ocd bullshit and depression and allowed me (the quarterback) to sneak through to the end zone for the win.
