Got a phone call ealier today and i have my interview for this job on Thursday. Has anyone had any experience with this job? if so im hoping i could message you with a question. Let me know.
Over and out.

in the U.S. army commo jobs are pretty tight. You can do highspeed "lets go for adventure" or you can play it chill and do very little.

I'm trained to correct software, and point out hardware problems with common radios, computers, tactical satelite communications including portable dishes, computer router configuration(cisco) creating Ip addresses, assigning them to multiple machines, creating networks (Lan, Man, Wan), and a few other things. Stuff the Regular army uses. Got a chance to train with some of the commo equipment in special ops but very limited time spent with that.

I'm just about to go to my 1st duty station after almost 11months of various training...been very interesting so far, and met some good people, and have done some fun things, such as (airborne) training.

not sure what the job parameters are in your countries army but sounds like it could be similiar to what I do.

Do you have a website that talks about the job?

Instead of going for operator, can you sign up for radio repair? An electronic technician makes more on the outside than an operator. Check out the 31 MOS series and see if they have any repair slots open.

this job is where your out on field and get all the high tech equipment.. like gotta communication with the main base.. try to pick up enemy signals/messaged and try to decode them. etc. :P

well the one im going for starting rate is (all australian dollars) $40k/yr.. and its one of the jobs which is easiest to get into the special forces.. cos they need a lot of the operators and which you get in there thats $70k/year

seems pretty good to me
and the things you learn.. most civilian jobs would be $50k+ which id be qualified for

LOL, sorry about that, mate! It looks like we assumed you were a Yank, not an Aussie! It sounds like you have already looked into the situation, and found the job for you. Have you considered SAS? I remember watching a TV program about them, they looked badass too! Cheers!

Not sure what the exchange rate is but if those were american dollars I'd be a begger on the street with my salary...hahah

Good luck. if the job interests you and offers you the skills and oportunities you are looking for then I say go for it.
