Anyone know anything about this?

I called my Dr. a few hours ago and told her I was kinda having trouble concentrating. She asked me if I wanted to try Straterra. I told her I would, but I know nothing about it! She said it is compared to Adderall but its not addicting.
Anyone have any experience with this drug or know someone who has?

Thanks,
JLAW

According to Eli Lilly's Web site for the drug (http://www.Strattera.com/) it is a "norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor."

It works "by selectively blocking the reuptake of norepinephrine, a chemical messenger, or neurotransmitter, by certain nerve cells in the brain. This action increases the availability of norepinephrine, which is thought to be essential in regulating impulse control, organization and attention. The precise mechanism by which Strattera works on ADHD is not known."

ADHD = Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

Well I should correct myself. I told her I AM having trouble concentrating. Actually, I didn't think she would give me anything. I figured she would just send my to a Psyc. Therapist or something!

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I don't think she should give you the drug based on a phone call telling her you are having "trouble thinking."

I understand what you are saying. It was a suprise to me also. You think it would be a bad idea to take it??
