i was looking to get an american pitbull for my next dog i've had a few big dogs when i was younger but from what i've read pitbull seems to fit perfect for what i'd want in a dog and ill be buying a house soon so it will fit well.. what i'm wondering is if anyone knows any good breeders in florida or should i just buy from one of these pitbull farms i've been finding online.. i found one muglestonpitbullfarm prices range from 1500 to 5000 for dog and the dogs just look amazing at maturity.. massive heads and chests beautiful blue's and cinnamon colors.. just wondering if that price is normal or inflated i wouldn't mind paying 3k for one of the dogs they show on their website but if i paid that much and the dog i bought turned out to be a little scrany thing i'd be pretty pissed.... any help is much appreciated and thanks..

I would guess that any member here with pittbull in their name knows a thing or two

Friskypitbullchick at your service :qt:

I know that I've never met a pitbull that didn't want to snuggle up to me and kiss my face. There's one in school who was rescued from an abusive home. She used to be really agressive. Now she is a happy loving girl and she plays very gently with my 7 pound papillon.

ya from what i've read its all in the bloodline.. i've heard they can be the most sweetest loyal intelligent dogs..

I think the best thing you can do for you and ANY dog is go to professional dog school and learn how to work as a team with you in total control.

Also remember that Florida is trying to pass a law that increases your property tax in excess of $500/year if you have such a dog. Hope the monster is worth it

Aww, how ugly.

I dont know about pitbulls but I can refer you to some great American bred pomeranian farms :rainbow:

yo that pic in your signature is crazy shit

One thing I would do is go in person to see the dogs and pick one out. Pitbulls can be real nice but you don't want to end up with leader of the pup pack because he'll be aggressive all his life. If you using it for a "real" guard dog, you want the aggressive one.
Training is very important, they need to know who's in charge. I don't think pitbulls are dangerous but if you train them that way or lack of training, they can be very dangerous around childern and the weak in general.

Depends what your after here.

well i'd be able to train it and exercise it pretty much day round considering i work out of my house.. and i've been reading up alot on training so i do understand about the aggressiveness and how to make them be loyal and gentle..

A male Pitbull should not weigh more than 65-70 lbs. Not sure what they have going on there, but if you want a 125 lb. dog, buy an American Bulldog. :)

PBRC is the place to go for Pits, it's a rescue organization. If you want a purebred pedigree Pitbull, buy one from a reputable breeder, not some genetic mutant "farm". There are plenty of reputable breeders in the U.S., but Florida would be the last place I would buy one.

I have one sleeping at my feet. He follows me wherever I go.

Pitbulls do not make good guard dogs, nor do aggressive dogs...aggression is not the sign of a good guard dog, discretion is.

mr pitbull you happen to have any pics of your dogs.. i'd like to see them..

Not on my laptop, I need to get my desktop fixed and then I can post some. Although, my mutts are nothing to look at. Both of my Pits are rescue babies, my boy is 70 lbs. and my girl is 50 lbs. We also have a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and a Maltese.

If you want a good watch dog, the Ridgeback is the way to go. The most alert dog I have ever been around. :)

well i'm basically looking for a very intelligent loyal dog and from what i've been reading they say pitbulls are one of the most intelligent and loyal dogs.. i have all day to train exercise and be with the dog so i just think it would be a perfect dog to grow up part of my family..

any solid blues?

Nope no over priced blues here..i have seen ppl with them i am not impressed on the smarts wise..I know lots of breeders i can get any kind of pit color ect...Yea pits right these so called pits with hudge heads and crazy weight are not really pits.Maybe staffier lol spell that right, thats a big difference there. Also dum rednecks breed for hog hunting y you see so many big rottie looking dogs..Pits are small low riders there designed that way for fighting.Big hog dogs are slow stupid and id take them on in a fight there really slow...
Anyways good luck on your find. You didnt think to much of the bitch up top, shes top of the line.My white's sell all over the state, dont think ive sold but one dog in my town...Any serious lookers that know what there looking at,drop me a line...heres a stud dog 22inch head hes 11 months here i think, same blue eye money maker..

Want a Super Intelligent and loyal family dog that isn't hated blindly by
60% of the US populas and not likely to cause you unwarranted grief with
the neighbors, the Goverment/Insurance/ etc ?

Get a German Shepherd or better yet a Shepherd/Lab Mix
