Anyone inspired?? Discovery:"bodybuilders"

i saw the thread about the discovery channel's program about bodybuilding...i stayed up an extra few hours to catch it at 2am yesterday...anywayz, was anyone inspired about the natural aspect of bodybuilding??

i don't deny that ive cycled before...but the dedication of these guys doin it naturally really motivates me...not sayin that people who decide to do the gear has less determination than these men, its just that id rather attain a nice, classical symmetrical physique that ben weider and many others claim that bodybuilders have lost..of course there are the exception who find the loopholes during testing...but as for individuals like me, who just want to maintain a solid lean physique without really having goals of competitive bodybuilding...i think natural fitness is the way to go..im sure i'll be tempted to do a cycle again, but hey who knows..maybe if i tweek my diet better and actually go gung ho to the max, id like to think that id opt not to have to go black market again...i guess the coverage on stan mcquay inspired me, even tho he is taking it to the next level so i hear...

BTW, are prohormones considered "natural" to these competitors?? and does anyone here agree with me on the subject?? id love to hear some thoughts..later

No names... I've met this well built guys, who is a small caliber actor (at least I think so) and organized few bodybuilding contests of naturals in my state. He juiced before and "discovered" that he can do it now naturally... it made me think... no one ever wants to give any good credit to juice... "look at me, I'm natural," he said... "hell yeah," was my thought, "you just freaking told me you juiced before and discovered "the truth."
However, I do have to give some good credit to those, who truly are naturals. But in my gym I find that naturals don't workout any harder than those on juice...:D

I watched the show at 2am too...and it just made me realize I'm not happy with where I'm at. Must...get...bigger and stronger.

I was quite impressed with fact that craig titus and tom prince pretty much admitted to using juice. As far as those natural guys are concerned, i don't think they'll stay natural for very long.

Natural my ass. I bet all those guys are currently on every type of prohormone and ECA supplement under the sun. They should just call themselves "non-risk takers" instead of natural. If they want to be truly "natural", then they should avoid protein shakes, supplements, and weightlifting altogether. Then we could compare who looks the best "naturally".
Please....

I'm not so sure that those guys were totally natural. But I could be wrong. It seemed like Stan McQuay's shoulders looked huge on that show, then disapeared shortly after when doing a layout in Muscle and Fitness. Also, he just looks a lot smaller to me lately. It's hard for me to think that naturally gained muscle could fluctuate so much (If indeed it's not just my eyes playing tricks) in so short a time.

The other guy was saying he was going for an Arnold look. Well, good luck! I think the thing that made a lot of those guys in the 70's look as good as they did was a combination of genetics, reasonable roid doses, and attention to fine detail. A lot of guys today look like they've just blown up huge then dieted. Whereas in the olden days it was an art to focus on balance and detail. for the size and maintenance for detail Arnold had, I think you'll have to use a little.

Stan has used steroids before. There's no doubt in my mind at all! He was a little wimp as a kid and now he can go into the gym and put on muscle very easily. Come'on, if you know anything about training naturally vs training with steroids, you know that he uses juice or has in the past. I know, I've trained without juice for 10 years and it's much, much more difficult to pack on the muscle naturally.

The special was inspirational regardless of the lies from the so-called natural bodybuilders, but I understand why they had to lie. I do wish that they had more programs like this on TV. What ever happened to American Muscle?

Yeah when you get right down to it the "natural" guys are probably spending more on creatine, hmb, eca, and every other supplement imaginable than we do on a cycle of steroids. These guys are taking so much shit it blurs the line between what is "natural" and what's not.

At the same time though i give them all the respect in the world for what they have achieved without juice... although it's debatable whether they've really never done it or not.

I think the average natural bodybuilder is simply someone who did steroids in the past to gain a bunch of muscle, then decided for whatever reason to quit. However at this point it isn't hard to keep their AS supplemented muscle naturally, so long as they aren't past their genetic limit which none of them looked like.

I have no doubt that some natural bodybuilders truly are natural, but imagine how long it would take them to achieve the look of the not so natural ones. Some of those natural guys are too damn young to have gotten that big by that age.

Rules for natural bodybuilding shows seem nothing more than proving you're "natural" at the time of the show when it should be that you've never touched a steroid in your life. Using steroids to achieve a certain look and then maintaining that look is a hell of a lot easier than achieving and maintaining that look completely drug free.

I was inspired but not to go it natural at all. I am not truly convinced that the natural athletes they profiled were really natural. I think some of the skinny dudes that were in the background were but the ones profiled I am not convinced yet that they are. I am sure they are not now if they moved from Muscle Mania over to the NPC. The NPC is full of huge guys who juice and if they really want to compete on that level they will have to juice. I think Stan McQuay is a great bodybuilder and I have met him a few times and he is humble and seems to be a very cool guy. I have always thought he had a great physique and weather he is natural or not I still think he looks good. I do not care one-way or the other. As far as being inspired to go natural hells no. I like what the juice is doing for me. I was natural and was bigger natural but I like the hardness and the strength that I am gaining now. I am never going to compete though; I am just doing it because I am incredibly vain and just want to look good.
