Last time I considered living in SD there were a couple of problems that worried me:
1. sewage in the bay from Mexico
2. water rationing
Are these still problems? that was several years ago.

I'm moving out there first of Aug, so you're saying that Pacific Beach or Ocean Beach would be ok? I have no clue where to live, but those were two I have heard were alright...

Pacfific Beach is great... Mission beach is ok.. Ocean beach is pretty scummy... its a bad area. Pacific beach.. known as PB here.. is a hot spot..

I've lived in Coronado, by the Q & Carlsbad. Anything in the Mission Bay, Mission Beach, PB or downtown around the Gaslamp are fun spots.

Ocean Beach can be cute, but I'd look before I move. I go antique shopping there.

It depends if you want loud party spots or a quieter place.
