I kinda wonder about those. I hear they are fast but are the reliable long term? Are mazdas in general reliable like say a honda?

good luck on trying to get someone to fix one. I had a bf who had one. That rotary engine TANKED in a big way. Evidently, when they go, they are gone.

Had a 95' RX-7. Kept it for about a year including one winter (and canadian's winter aren't specially easy lol). Was it reliable ? Yes. Best winter beater ever. Now keep in mind it's not gas friendly. Same with oil. Had to put 1L every 2000km but apparently it's normal. Also you have no torque at low RPM (same with the S2000).

i had the origional mazda rx-7 in the early 90's.....110K trouble free miles on it..not much low end power but pulled like a freight train in the mid/upper rpm ranges.

the rest of the car held up quite well, for the time period espically.

rotary engine do use more oil than a conventional piston engine, true..part of their nature. don't recall it being excessive consumption, though.

a very quiet and vibration free engine.

any questions, feel free to PM me.

Also many parts available. Very easy to swap in a 20B engine (from the Eunos Cosmo). Triple-rotor, twin-turbo, 300hp AND 300ft-lbs stock !
