Anyone here work for the post office?

Nathan

New member
Just curious if anyone on the board works for the post office and if so wouldn't mind answering a few questions. Anyone?

bump,

answers from the postman would be good.
actually, my sister inlaw works for the post office.
i can get her rambling about anything.
post the questions and i'll get the answers from her.
she's been with them for like 15 years and has worked all kinds of depts.
I'm glad you brought that up Nate, i totally forgot that she worked in the post office.

Sweet. I'm trying to get a good idea of how things work, basically. For somewhat larger orders of gear, what are some ways of throwing off suspicion - like do they ever open packages that are products, like say, a tub of protein powder that's been sealed? Do they pass stuff through an x-ray machine ever? I'm also wondering about how thoroughly stuff is searched at the Canada/US border, if at all, really.
Um, oh, what about packages being repeatedly sent to same addy - I know that sets off warning flags, but how's all that work? Last thing I think, if shipping to home addy, would it be wise to send to that address but put a different name (claim sender fucked up addy or something if cops come a knocking but package hasn't been opened)? Thanks for any and all help.
Anyone else with any good questions?

Hi Nathan, how are the gay bars??

I am presuming you have missed my numerous posts that explain the way things work at the USPS.

I did contract work for them a few years back. I was in over 250 post offices all across the south and SE US.

Never, did I EVER see anything that would give the impression that the USPS was actively searching packages. I was in post offices ranging from po dunk one horse towns to major airport sorting facilities.

As for the Canadian/US connection, that is a different story, you are talking customs, which is a different entity (although the USPS and customs work closely)

You must be careful about using false names on postal documents. If it is done in the commission of a felonious or illegal act, you have just added charges (if you are caught).

If customs or USPS (namely Postal Inspectors) have a suspision of something illegal, they can pretty much do anything they want while your package is in the postal system, **but** they must have probably cause in the first place to start an inquiry.

So,I guess questions should mainly be restricted to customs. That's good. What about searching packages that don't look suspicious really, and are products that are sealed or something? Any tips dude?

Oh, and you people are seriously going to start a rumor that I'm gay. Granted, I don't help matters with some of the shit that comes out of my mouth but whatever.
Also, I'm afraid I'm going to have to viciously assault you for your mockery - after you answer my questions.

P.S. The gay bars are hopping these days.:D
