Anyone here like hardcore type music?

MP5

Banned
Seems like all i hear about is Disturbed and Eminem. Anyone like any bands like Pennywise, AFI, Face to Face?

Not heard them, i might have to check them out. I have been rocking the AFI lately, that band is fucking bad. Cannot understand half the words but they have sick breakdowns.

I don't really listen to any of them... I am more into Rammstein, Ozzy, Zeppelin, Floyd, Rob Zombie, Pantera, Hoobastank, Misfits, Judas Priest, and Mudvayne... Plus some techno music.

I dislike Eminem, and any rap for that matter.

If you like those, I would recommend 36 Crazyfists, Dry Kill Logic, and Factory 81.

hardcore = hatebreed

Forgot about them... ill add somemore too..

Botch, Deicide, Downthesun, Five Point O, Glassjaw, Goneblind, Ill Nino, NothingFace, Pushmonkey, Rumbulfish, Sinch, Snot, Soulfly, Theory of a Deadman, Twice the Sun

None of the above bands are hardcore, except for Hatebreed... Hardcore is ; Agnostic Front, Discharge, Millions of Dead Cops, Siege, Accused, Extreme Noise Terror. The bands listed above are sedate rip offs of how extreme hardcore used to sound like.

how about Dry Kill logic, Killswitch Engage, or Factory 81?

Dry Kill logic is good. Kindof Slipknot mixed with old Machine Head.

I will check out those other 2 bands.

You might like Killing Culture. I like the music but Im not nuts about the vocals.

I just sampled some Killswitch Engage, pretty kick ass stuff. I've
kind of drifted from what's new since I was pretty disappointed in
Slipknot and System of A Down's follow up records. Sevendust still sounds like they pack a wallop. What is super heavy out there now, Fear Factory(esque), clean powerful guitars, not TOO
maniacal screaming vocals? Hatebreeds vocals turned me off, at
least what I sampled.

I like harcore, which definitely qualifies as "hardcore type music" IMO. Some of my favorite hardcore bands are Hatebreed, Candiria, Diecast, Shutdown, Snapcase, old VOD, Earth Crisis, Dillenger Escape Plan, Buried Alive, Shai Hulud.....
I also like death metal a lot.

Not too maniacal? Hmm ...

Five Pointe O. Check out "Double X Minus" and "The Infinity." Cool songs.

If you want a mellow kinda sound, check out Flaw. He has an amazing voice, IMO. They can get heavy too.

StoneSour is a good band. Corey Taylor's side project.

And thank you God. Finally, someone who is not impressed by SOAD. I hate that freaking band!!

BTW, which Killswitch tunes did you get? Get stuff off their 2nd album, if you havent. I think its a lot better than the first.

Gimp, I haven't heard those bands spoke of in many moons! MDC, Extreme Noise Terror, Accused (Martha Splatterhead Lives!)

I've been going back to old DK, Misfits, shit like that.

To MP5, try Son of Sam (some members of AFI) goth/punk.

if I have mentioned these bands once, I have mentioned them a million freaking times

hatebreed
integrity
shai hulud
snapcase
slugfest
turmoil
25 ta life

mind you those bands were hot when i was stilllistening to H/C. I also would recommend misfits, black flag, dead kennedys, 80's bad religion, method of destruction, soldiers of destruction/death, jodie foster's army, millions of dead cops...

I like "old school" rock like KISS, Queen, Aerosmith, Guns and Roses, John Mellencamp, Ozzy/Black Sabbath, Ted Nugent, Twisted Sister, Van Halen, etc. where you can rocked real good and STILL BE ABLE TO HEAR THE LYRICS. I'm only in my early twenties, and I can't understand all this extreme hard core, death metal shit like GWAR and all this gothic, life sucks, woe is me, I'm a spoiled-rich-suburban-white-kid-listening-to-Marilyn Manson-because-I-want-to-pretend-to-be-a-badass music. Also, RAP SUCKS! All these "brothas", not BROS LIKE US, but "brothas", go around talking about rap "music". First, there is no such thing. Technically, rap "music" isn't really music at all. If you look up the definition of music in any dictionary, you would find that the word music states there there must be a MELODY of some form in the song. RAP "MUSIC" is the only form of "MUSIC" today that technically HAS NO MELODY. Secondly, I'm sick of seeing all these stupid ghetto bastards dressed in pants so big that it makes them look like they just took a crap in them. What's wrong MR. RAPPER? You spent too much money on crack that you had none left to buy a belt to hold your pants up? Secondly, all these rappers talk about the hard ghetto life, and yet they all live in million dollars homes in white suburbs. I guess that's what they mean by "keepin' it real". They talk about keeping it real, and first time they got money, they leave their shithole "real" ghettos for the nice, clean suburbs where they can escape all the REAL problems of ghetto life: drugs, crime, murder, no future, etc. Also, these white rappers like Eminem are pissing me off. Eminiem is a red neck white boy who needs to act like a hard core rapper from New York because he is too much of a weak, undisciplined pussy to hit the weights and kicks some ass the old fashioned way. So his little arm, 130 lb. ass has to "act" tough by talking like he was born and raised in NYC, wearing baggy pants and shitloads of fake gold. You know what Eminiem, leave fake gold to the professionals like MR.T.

rammstein sucks??!?! shame on you!

hehe I had to defend Rammstein.

They are simply the most talented hardcore/industrial band out there now.

Their music is UNIQUE. It is heavy and beutiful at the same time...kind of what metallica used to be.

RAMMSTEIN is THE MUSIC you want to hear while working out.

Agnostic Front, Accused... a blast from the past.
I love old school Killing Joke, Skinny Puppy, GBH, Sepultura.
There aren't many bands that give me the sustained rush that Slayer does, though.

soon to be his only project sadly :bawling:

anyway, anything with wicked bassy guitar riffs and screaming gets me jacked up, ill have to try out some of these bands when i get my mp3 player omrow, got tired of listening to the gym music and ppl bothering me, i want to be in my own world...

hey hulkster you may not like eminem and the other rappers out there, and i admit im one of the whitest people on earth but you cant put hi down for the clothes he wears and the look he has. there is no denying the fact that some of these guys have talent, so before you trash the guy for what you see on tv, and the music he puts out, look at how far hes come. he has infact left his hell hole, and im sure you would too if u were faced with that situation, granted it was exaggerated by the media. also most of these guys give back to their community, take Master P for example, hes givin back millions to the place where he grew up, even supporting his middle school when it almost closed its doors. and please dont try to define music (an art form) with words from a dictionary, thats ridiculous, who are we to criticize how he expresses himself?

bump for these..

Hm. I was totally unaware of that ...

Know where I can find some old stuff of theirs?

AFI have the best lyrics ever
absolutely the most poetic stuff, but i love how it comes off in a totally contrasted screaming / hardcore sound.

i suggest everyone checks out silverstein.... fairly new band, absoultey amazing amazing amazing shit though... even better live

listen to "smashed into pieces" , "november", "giving up"... the ones you heard may have been their old bad quality recording stuff

and what can you possibly not like... they've got a better sound than any of the more famous bands out now, amazing lyrics, amazing everyone pretty much.... and on top of that i got to meet them when they played at my friend's house party and I've got them coming to my uni to play a gig.... they're stand up guys.

I know you guys don't know who the hell I am but, AFI sucks!!! Their stuff 5 years ago was great. Now it's all about selling records. Don't get me wrong, everyone should make a living, but FUCK AFI. I have been into hardcore for over ten years and have sang in sevral bands. Strength Thru Suffering and Assembly 6. Anyway, hardcore music is from the soul, not about records sold. Sure Hatebreed, Agnostic Front and Sick Of It All sell lots of shit but the music is real. BTW, Rick from 25 ta life is singing in a band called Commin Correct. If you like 25, check them out.

The best HARDCORE BANDS
Blood for Blood
Hatebreed
Agnostic Front
Dillinger Escape Plan (best band EVER live)
American Nightmare
Strife
Hoods
Walls of Jericho (best woman singer ever)
Avail
MadballStretch Armstrong
No innocent victom
P-Tanks

Thats my list, I'm sure I missed some. I would throw ZEKE (thrash), Bad Brains, Pennywise, Dying Fetus, Candysnatchers and the greatest band af all time, DROPKICK MURPHYS in there too. Being new to the west coast (originaly from DC), Harcore sucks out here. It's nowhere near as violent as back east. Strife and Hoods keep west coast HC alive. Later Joe
