I'm thinking about taking an instructional course to learn the basics and see if this is a hobby I'd like to take up. Better than hook rugs, macrame, or needlepoint. It's like one night of instruction on the basics and then I can go to open climbing on Tuesday evenings.

Is this fun? Looks fun.

I climbed quite a bit when I was lighter. I've never done it on a rock wall though. It was pretty fun, kind of scary. HUGE forearm pumps. It costs about as much as a snowboard setup to get all your stuff.

I may do Tae Kwon Do instead.

My friend's mom is a black belt in TKD. Although it's not the best fighting art (as demonstrated by UFC) she's managed to stay pretty fit for approx. age 60.

i did when i lived in colorado.......did alot of bouldering too! that shit where you climb up high and put the clamps in with someone belaying you is for the birds though....to fucking scary

My son was a high brown belt when he quit TKD. I always thought it looked fun and like something I would enjoy.
