I may not be able to get my BSN at an accredited University (IU) due to a variety of reasons. So i may have to go to Ivy Tech (which in indiana is a technical school which has, among other 1 & 2 year degrees, nursing degrees) to get an ASN degree.

If you have a nursing degree from a technical school rather than a university, does that affect your career options & pay scale? i.e., would the options & pay i would get with an A.S.N. from Ivy Tech be close to what i would get with a BSN from I.U.? They don't have to be really close, just at or above 60%. i.e., $14 an hour or something like that.

r.n. is an r.n. doesn't matter where you get it mang.

my wife's cousin is a nurse in san fran.. didn't even get her bachelors.. just went through prereq's then through nursing program.. started at $35/hr.. this was last year.. i think she's at $41/hr now.

I am a nurse.

As Decem said, it does'nt matter where you get your qualification...... an RN is an RN. In the UK the real money lies in specialities(ICU, surgical etc)- a qualified ITU nurse(ENB100) can expect to make at least £24 doing agency work.
