Anyone hear work graveyard and if so how do you cycle?

wondering how those that work graveyard cycle, like do u just take your vitamins when you get up rather than in the morning and does working graveyard effect you since you never see the sun or is it ok as long as you get the sleep.
 
man am I soory for you. I worked that shit for a while. My suggestion, get out! Hell yeah it will effect you. It will effect you in so m,any ways that I would get tired of typing. In short, human beings are not supposed to be totally nocturnal. You will never totally adjust. Even if you sleep the recommended number of hours, it is not the same. I recently read a medical study stating all the effects of night shift. It was truly unreal. Have you noticed yourself being more depressed and tired? If not, just wait. Sunshine effects depression and metabolism according to this study. It even effected things such as heart rate and blood pressure do the lack of rim sleep. I may get slammed for not backing this up the study but I am just too damn tired.

Just find somewhere else to work before it effects your health and personal life.
 
I have worked nights for a long time now 7 pm to 7 am. It is just like everyone else except the opposite time of the day. I go lift when I get off. So yeah you just take your vitamins and supps when you get up like everyone else would.

And mobro is right. I think they showed that working nights ages you physically by about 10 years. And sleeping in the daytime sucks.

do you still feel tired, depressed, and struggle with your schedule? I know some people have to do it. heck, i left the country to get away from it! Seriously, i am trying to keep myself from having to go back to that. good luck man. just don't let it get so bad you can't recover. it will sneak up on you.
 
I work 3p-3a and while it is not deep nights it still sucks. i did deep nights for a few years and had to change to day shift for a while before moving jobs and now on 3-3. day sleep is not the same as night sleep. you still get into your REM sleep but not as often or as long as needed. i take melatonin to help make it through the day. I black out my windows. Your friends generally work days so you dont have the same interaction. nights does cut down your life span.

I take my shit when I get up.
 
I would agree... change shifts..

I did it and it sucked, Cycle and diet were normal though... just reversed.
 
looks like everybody agrees.............GET OFF OF NIGHT SHIFT! there are other things to do. what is 10 years of your life and a social life while you are alive worth to you?
good luck man, i may find myself in that situation again but i am going to try everything to keep from it.
 
Well I must be the only then says its fine for me. I have been working 11p-7a for about 2.5 years now and like it. I think as long as you handle it right you can do it. Main thing is keeping your body on a schedule I rarely have any issues with sleeping. I use ear plugs and darken the room and its lights out. I usually go to bed around 8am and wake around 3-4pm then go workout. Less stress working at nights for me. You don't have to deal with all the BS.
