For those that don't know, it's when a nerve in your elbow gets compressed, causing numbness in your hand.

I referenced the ulnar nerve, which is indeed the issue here, and I also gave a very good solution to it - have both arms amputated.

I assure you that without arms, this young man would completely escape the issue at hand, not to mention would stop posting here unless he figured out how to type with his face the same way Bullit does.

I know what you are going through....Last year around November I lost all feeling in my pinky & index finger on my left hand due to cubital tunnel.....After a series of MRI's, EMG, & many doctor visits...I had surgery this past January...submuscular transposition of the ulnar nerve....I couldnt use my left arm for about three months....muscle atrophy was about setting in....I am now fully recovered & getting all my strength back in my hand & arm....my fingers are slightly numb, but the doctor said It will take upwards to a year for the nerve to grow back to the hand

I've had carpel tunnel for about 6 yrs. now. Try to figure out some of your daily activities that agrivate it and change the way you do them.

When I spend a lot of time driving in the car I've switched to driving with my other arm as much as possible. For the computer I got an ergonomic trackball which is better for me than a mouse. Watch your posture when you're sitting at the computer, keep your elbows up to wrist level or higher. I also go for deep tissue massage therapy when it gets really bad.

asiansinc: don't get surgery!!! there is no reason to go out of commision for a year!!!

Thank you, SCG2. I read the thread and bookmarked the ART site earlier to do some more looking into.

It's amazing how some doctors just wanna put you on meds (mine did that for a while) then some PT and if that doesn't solve it, surgery is always the answer. Grrrrrrrrrr! Thank goodness for people on the net...I've gotten more help with this issue and others than would have been possible otherwise.

yeah i'm pretty fed up with "conventional" medicine, myself. its always cut now, ask questions later.
