I just got off of the phone with one....wants me for some job with a magazine traveling around the country???

Im trying to figure out what the catch is?

Wtf is a recruiter? I'm pissed

Recruiters are normally paid by the company that will be hiring you. So there is no catch if its legit.
Companies are willing to pay a recruiter because it is a lot of work to look for good candidates and narrow them down. A lot of managers don't have time for that.

Why dont you ask the recruiter what the catch is instead of bros on a jooseboard

cuz I dont meet with the guy until the end of he week and want to know what the hell Im supposed to be looking out for

I thought everyone here knew everything!

I have gotten jobs through recruiters, and I've worked with recruiters (as well as on my own) every time I have looked for a job.
There are a lot of advantages to using them. They have connections to people and to jobs that aren't widely advertized. They work on commission so they are motivated and aggressive in finding you something, because that's how they get paid. And, they act as a middle man to help sell you and accentuate your good points to the potential employer.

When you talk to your guy, you should ask first thing, "how do you get paid?" There are some guys who say they are headhunters but they are more like career counselors who charge you to fix up your resume and interview technique, and to get you interviews. I wouldn't recommend working with anyone like that, because you don't need them. But a regular employer paid headhunter is fine.

They call me all the time lately. I must have gotten on some kind of list. I ignore their messages and emails because I'm not looking right now.

I roundhouse kicked chuck to face for looking at me once. Let's just say he looks at the ground now

selling magazines door to door is no job for such a young lady..

I work with them all the time.. no matter what $$$ amount they offer, do not accept it..

example... if the offer is for $75 per hour negotiate after the interview with the employer and they want you..

then accept the offer for $95 with a final compromise of $85..

the money comes out of the recruiters end.. but they are making enough money off you anyway..

Probably saw your avi on here...is not a recruiter ...and has his plum in his hand as we speak.

Thx for not answering the most obvious question.

Do you ever stay at a job more than 2 months?

LOLOL...I'm haven't left the job I'm at holy crap, my job is actually seasonal and contract work..chill out!
I will probably be filling in at another company for some temp stuff until the weather breaks if you must know.
and I didn't contact the recruiter ...its way more complicated than that
it's more of a networking thing.
I pulled kind of a weird stunt that's had interesting reprecussions so far

The recruiter didnt want to talk to me about selling magazines..lolol...
I love the wild ass conclusions people jump to on here.

is this some fuckin "teehee i showed him my tits now he wants to offer me a job" type shit?

women are so annoying

I put this ad up on craigslist;

I have looked over hundreds of craigslist posting and have come to a few conclusions.
1. more than two thirds of the positions listed are scams
2. a third of what is left is MLM scams
3. a third of that has such egomaniac titles or descriptions they lend themselves to being...scams.
4. that last shred is what I'm looking for and I'm tired of sifting through this mess to find it.

I am a top sales performer; My customer service is second to none.
There is nothing I can't learn and am naturally curious and inquisitive.
I have done retail work in the supplement and fitness industry. I have sold cars. I've sold motorsports. I've sold home improvements. Hell, I know how to solder pipes!
I have personal experience in art and fitness. I have extensive medical knowledge. I'd love to work in medical sales.
Oh and I'm female and understand you need to be well groomed and well spoken in a sales enviroment. I'm not above clerical work or manual labor in a pinch.
I don't need crazy wild promises. I will work commission only if the product isn't seasonal or isn't completely intangible.
I would prefer a base especially if travel is involved (hey gas isn't cheap no matter what you drive).
I don't want to work 80 hours a week for a grand a week...you do the math, it's less than minimum wage. I don't need benefits like health insurance or your lousy 401k (non-lousy 401k's considered).
I seriously doubt any of you have the stones to shoot me an email and see if we can help each other out, but ..what the heck I'll throw the ad up anyway!

it had unintended consequences....It was really just put up in frustration
there was an overwhelming response to it
one of which was recruiter asking me to write advertising for some nascar magazine

a ton of independent consultants and shit sent me contact info for networking ...

anyway..nev knew about it ..fuckhead

and nev told me this morning either I put this up or he did...fucker

which sucks because I had to take it down ..and it turned into an interesting social experiment
