anyone ever made farmers implements?

i want to get one, but then it would be pretty easy to do it. im wondering about it from the other thread i posted, w/o welding.

yes i made some, go to home depot and get some plumbing pipe that is already threaded, put some thread locker on the the threads and use your imagination. i wound up tack welding mine but red thread locker will do just as well. if you want a pic of mine here it is

i wound up adding one more pipe on the end to make it longer so i could take longer strides, go to www.matsaunders.com and watch one of the medley movies you will see them.;)

Here's them being used:
200lbsx40'

About $60 total, and that includes a duck walk implement I bought at the same time.
They accept standard plates. (I have a bunch of old extra ones, so figured I'd build them to use them.)

what no 1.5 inchers? or even 2 inch? i thought about making some thick grips, probably less than 2 inches but not a 1".

ah, there we go. thanks

does anyone know what size piping will work well for oly plates? i say this because i think a 2 in pipe will be too thick. regular bars have a 2 in. collar but...i think piping is 2 inches in the inside, not including the pipe itself.

Handles are 3/4" pipe, 1/2" pipe for the plate loaders. I believe those are inside diameters. They're just sold like I listed them.:)

I use clamps like T3C and B-Fold also use, to hold the plates in place.

looks like this weekend may be farmers walks and sled dragging. if i can get an oly bar and some 3 inch pvc...maybe conan's walks too.

I do my thick bar/grip work separately from my farmers work. They are 2 totally different weaknesses for me, so I work them separately.:)

That doesn't mean thick bar farmers aren't a good idea, just not one that I use right now.:)

Take an oly clamp or small plate with you to the hardware store, and check it and see. That's what I did.:)

there are a few internet sources for implements

sarden strength is one.

do a search on yahoo. you should be able to find what you need, its just that some of us make do by building some stuff. as for a log, im not sure how to build one of those, though, i think i could if need be. hehehe.
