I have a problem wearing a tight t-shirt in the gym or on the street. It has to be baggy. I'm quite muscular and about 7% bf. But being a show off is something I have a hard time coming to terms with.. I have worn a t-shirt once or twice and felt extremely uncomfortable. The funny thing is when I was a teenager I had no problem showing off. Now it's tougher than ever.

I grew up in a quite wealthy family and my dad brought us up to act very modest. He'd drive a very average car even though he could afford the best. We never had the best toys or anything. And no he wasn't miserly. He gave a lot of money to charities.

Fast-forward, I work as a trader in a hedge fund and make decent money. But still drive a Golf while my colleagues are on Porsches and Ferraris’, Yes I know I can get one of these babies. However, I'm thinking of a classic DB6 Aston Martin though. Only a few people would know is real value.

Is anyone else conscious of showing off too?

I have no qualms about showing off my pasty white beer belly & scrawny arms / legs in public. Women love it because they don't feel intimidated that I look better (semi) naked than they do.

Everyone loves my muffin top and I show it off at will.

Actually, I'm kidding about that. I go to GREAT lengths to hide my not as attractive parts and dress very specifically to accentuate my better attributes including my shoulders, arms and lower legs. I try to dress appropriate for my level of fitness.

All that being said, I don't get by on personality alone anymore. :)

Heck no!!! If you work hard to build it show it off bro!!! You never know when a kid will just walk by and see you and be inspired to start training!!! Let the world see your discipline and hard work! My .02

I don't normally wear revealing stuff. Friday I wore a trendy (to the extent you can call anything bought at Target trendy) t-shirt to work. It has very short sleeves that reveal more arm than I normally do. Within five minutes of arriving some guy says "man, you're buffed...you been working out?". Now, I've been working here 3 1/2 years now and I don't look any different than I ever did. The only difference was I let it show for once. I was miserable all day actually.
