Anyone else quit lifting???

Just have too many higher priorities going on. Plus I attract smarter women when I am not buffed out...or so it seems.

Major burnout on the weights as well.

Only when I was injured. I slacked some last semester but now all is back to usually but boosted up more than before. ;)

Not intentionally. I got slammed hard when the fall allergy season hit. I didn't have the energy for work and exercise, so I chose to keep earning money for rent, bills, and food. Getting back into the groove slowly. I'm considering taking before and after pics this year.

Almost. This (bulking cycle) is sort of a last ditch effort to try and save myself from quitting. At one point last month if I could have sold all my gym equipment to one person in an instant, I would probably have quit.

Sometimes when I feel I have little time for it I feel like quiting. But then I see all the fat shit people mooing around and I get my motivation back with the quickness.

Plus I start to feel like crap and tired if I don't workout in some form or another.

dude... i hven't lifted for 2 wks due to snow season and people are telling me i look more cut... wtf?

I haven't touched a weight for the last 4 weeks and guess what, I'm still the same. I'll be back this week.

all but quit myself. too many other higher priorities right now, namely my career. im dieting though to atleast stay in shape while i am away from the gym.

Not really. Mainly because I travel so much, so therefore I never really get to the gym enough to have burnout feelings. When I do go, it is a joy for me.

I quit working out from april till October this year. I had many conflicts in my life and I handled them all wrong.

If I knew what my life would be like now I would have never quit working out. I would have realized that I would be entering better things and would have never dwelled on something I thought I cared for...

I don't know why you decided to quit, but when you're going to the gym it makes you feel much better about yourself. But I could understand if your priorities demand that much were you wouldn't be able to make it to the gym.

Good Luck man.

If I did`nt have a home gym It would be a lot easier to quit. My basement is FULL of equipment just staring me in the face that I have to use it AND the commute time is 10 seconds to the gym and back.

Same here, if my gym wasn't at home I wouldn't be nearly as dedicated.

I've been off for the past two weeks due to injury, and now that my recovery is close enough for me to clear myself to return to the gym, I've come down with a killer cold, cough-cough. Damn.

holy shit.
I may have been halucinating...how should I know about this correlation?

Being in shape helps but I sure don't have to be buff....just good posture and carrying yourself well.

Being a photographer, I have to be careful about projecting just the right image. people do not actively seek muscular photographers in my experience.

My December was pitiful, I probably lifted under 15 times. Would be tearin it up now, but have to work out some issues before I get back to the gym. Gonna tear it up soon though! I'm gonna bench 405 this year even if I crack my mawfuckin sternum tryin

Dedication has its limitations. Sometimes you just gotta let your body rest. I think even if you have a busy life like mostly everyone else, or if you don't just slow down at the gym for a couple weeks. We know that the body can withstand tons of shit, but it's the only one we have. At least I do it, and it's fairly easy to get my motivation back up. mainly, friends and family getting fat pisses me off and motivates me more. Also, in those couple weeks of sorta resting period you will notice that the body will grow, at least I do. That's because you aren't stressing it constantly creating tension behind tension not allowing it to take a breather. a machine is a machine, mechanical or biological. they work by the same principles.

I cant quit, I need my so called "fix" where its my time alone and all my agression/stress gets to come out, even if its only 30 mins a day.

I had to stop in august of 2002 due to moving here and there, and now that I have been back into it hard for the past 8-10 months, I am moving again @!#$*&^!

I hear ya -- I fucked up my right elbow and have been trying to work through the tendonitis the past two weeks but the day after working out is a major problem -- looks like I may have to sacrifice one, maybe two weeks til this clears up. Really sucks. It's a bitch getting old :(
