anyone else feel bad for Grant Hill?

how could he be injured for 4 years... unless it is some serious health problem.... sounds like lack of preperation to me.....

He has a recurring problem with his ankle. The bone is weak or something and keeps breaking. He's got all kinds of pins in there but so far hasn't been able to come back and play with any consistency.

Also, I have to dispute you a little on those Grant Hill numbers Poye. Highly inflated. He may have been one of the better players in the league for a few years but one of the best of all time? No way.

he could have been on of the best all around players, hes just like a bigger jason kidd, oh and for the record I said could've, he is career avg's are 7.8 reb, 6.1 asts, and 21pts and 1.5 steals a game

plus I did like him because his approach to the game was refreshing, he was classy, smart, and genuine, he wasnt a stupid thug wanna be like most players
 
Agreed, I am by NO means a Duke fan, but he could have helped with the label of Duke players not performing in the NBA.

yeah, i feel really bad for some guy who gets paid millions to play a game and sell sprite or whatever he does.....:o
 
but back to the original post, hill was an all star every year he was in the league before his injury, took a piss poor pistons team to the playoffs, and in the season he was injured was averaging close to 25ppg. and please dont ever ever compare him to that dickbag jason kidd. he cant play for any coaches, beats his wife, and is an arrogant prick.

Hill was really good. I remember watching Duke UNC when Hioll wasa senior, UNC had Stackhouse, Wallace and Derrick Phelps. Hill just owned the entire UNC squad by himself, and I fuckin hate Duke. Hate.

Hill was the best player to ever come out of Duke, the best player in the country that year, and a potential NBA MVP.

He could have realistically been a combo of Kobe and T-Mac: Kobe's poise and clutch playmaking with T-Mac's raw skills, a defensive stopper, and oh yeah a degree from Duke University rather than a felony charge.

NBA life is 82 games, though, not 25, and Shaq is not Eric Montross. Hill's body just couldn't handle it. he should retire.

He's handsome, intelligent, loaded to the gills and has a gorgeous wife. You're kidding, right?
 
Forget Grant Hill. Look at Vince Carter. I cant remember the last time this fella played a whole season. Its no wonder Toronto can never make it anywhere in the playoffs. Everytime Vince Carter has a little headache he's out for the month. If I was his coach I'd trade his ass.
 
I don't feel sorry for grant hill, but he was a good player and seemed like a nice guy.

Elton brand is a damn good player in my book. it's not really his fault he's had to play on some of the worst teams in the NBA. I thought for certain he'd be a bust in the NBA, because his style in college was to simply overpower the opposition. however he's seemed to change his game to fit the nba.

shane battier and carlos boozer are not superstars, but are solid role players. Battier is a very versatile player and is an asset to any team.

Jay williams should have known better than to ride a motorcycle. It was written in his contract that he was not allowed to ride bikes. We'll probably never know if he was going to be any good or not.

lol actually i also hate duke basketball more than anything (other than the yankees) but brand is a solid player that brings it every night, averaging a double double at an undersized 6'8 power forward is not easy, especially on a shit team like the clips. Hill was one of my favorite players back in the day, smooth, could run, jump, played D, had a sweet pull up jumper, a great all around player in the mold of a scottie pippen in his prime, but not a crybaby and better.
 
He's talking about playing again this year too. Orlando is going to win the lottery and he's talking about playing on an ankle made of tissue paper. If he wants to play again he needs to sit out the season and try next year. I wouldn't take his chances, think about it God obviously has it out for him, if he tries again I wouldn't be surprised if his foot rips off his leg. Take a hint bro.

The funny thing is, everyone knows he'll come back, and get hurt.
