This sucks!! i was sick for a week and a half and my first day back at the gym i end up fucking my tailbone. i have no idea how...or when(maybe i slammed my ass down into the bench too quickly) but yesterday i was a ton of pain getting up and sitting. i could barely walk towards the end of the day without intense pain.

seems to be swollen....i don't want to go to the doc because i don't have insurance right now..been icing it but it's still tender.

anyone ever had this injury, if so how long did it take you to get normal again?

Yes. Terrible pain. I remember exactly how I did it too, slipped at the top of my stairs and dropped straight down onto my ass. Laying down was okay, standing up was okay, sitting was okay, but GOING from sitting to standing to laying was HORRIBLE.

Funny you don't remember doing it, though.

Try ibuprophen with food, if that doesn't help try acetominophen (if you can take it, some peeps have to watch out for their liver).

Now for the bad news, sometimes these things can take up to two months to completely heal. Not a lot of blood flows to that part of the body, you know?

The really bad news is that it's possible to break those things, but you don't need to worry about that unless it's not feeling quite a bit better in a month and a half or so.

it's feeling slightly better today. Ice + ibuprofen has helped..
i don't think it's that bad.....i doubt it's a break..although it may be a ligament or something as well.
good thing is i'm young and i heal pretty quickly normally. i'm just pissed and not sure if i can lift....obviously no legs or deadlifts...but i'm wondering if i can at least do some upper body work.

Honestly, if you're feeling better already, rest it for another day. If you think it's a ligament I wouldn't push it for a day or two, but then that's me.

Hmm, maybe I actually broke mine that time  who knows? It got better (gods I think it was about 15 or so years ago now)

Yep...In Houston at Astroworld, I rode a ride called the Batman. You stand up and this bicycle looking seat comes up and locks in place. You have cushions on your shoulders. Well, the seat thingy did not come up high enough and when we flipped I came down very hard on my tailbone. Was very painfull and bruised for 2 friggin weeks. Never rode that ride again.

damn it....i just found out it has nothing to do with my tailbone. which makes sense considering i don't remember any real trauma that was done to it

it's a god damn pilondial Cyst(basically an abcess).............

and it hurts like a bitch!

gotta get a surgeon to cut it open now :(
