anybody with welding/soldering experience

hey ive got to re-attach the snap downs for the front of my top, can i just solder them to the body or should i actually make a soft weld, or have someone do it for me?

will a bad ass soldering iron (the $40 one) get hot enough to weld it?, its soft metal, very soft.

or will solder and a screw, it will screw in its just screwed to the body and nothing behind it.

No it won't,If a screw is holding it on, and that screw will still work,I would mix up some JB Weld and apply,then screw it back together-that will do the job you seek!
An auto parts store should have JB weld.
